Definitions
- This invention relates to a pouring spout with associated rotating cap made of injection-molded plastic, the rotating cap in cooperation with the pouring spout offering a first opening guarantee.
- Such pouring spout with external thread and associated rotary caps or threaded caps are known.
- an annular guarantee band runs along the lower edge of the rotary cap and at a short distance from it, which is connected to the lower edge of the rotary cap via a number of fine material bridges.
- the guarantee band lies below the external thread on the pouring spout and when the rotating cap is unscrewed it cannot be pulled away via the external thread on the pouring spout because its diameter is larger than the inside diameter of the guarantee band. If the rotating cap is unscrewed with sufficient torque, the material bridges designed as predetermined breaking points, via which the guarantee tape is connected to the lower edge of the rotating cap, tear. Only then can the rotating cap be unscrewed from the pouring spout and removed.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a pouring spout with associated rotating cap with guaranteed opening, in which rotating cap the torque required for unscrewing it from the pouring spout compared to a conventional spout and associated spigot Rotating cap of the same dimension and with the same number of material bridges is reduced.
- this pouring spout is shown with its associated rotating cap and its opening guarantee band in different views and described below with reference to these drawings and explains the function of the individual parts. It shows:
- Figure 1 The rotating cap placed on the pouring spout with external thread, with intact guarantee tape;
- Figure 2 Section A of Figure 1 in an enlarged view
- Figure 3 The detail A in Figure 1 as shown in Figure 2, but in a viewing direction with respect to the view in Figure 2 from obliquely left;
- Figure 4 Section A in Figure 1 as shown in Figure 2, but after the initial unscrewing of the rotating cap, with a severed material bridge;
- Figure 5 Section A in Figure 1 as shown in Figure 3, after shearing off the visible material bridge and further unscrewing the rotating cap;
- Figure 6 The rotating cap on the pouring spout after breaking all material bridges and thus after detaching from the guarantee band, in a position just a little above the separated guarantee band.
- the rotating cap 1 shows the rotating cap 1 placed on a pouring spout 3 with an intact guarantee band 2.
- the guarantee band 2 is connected to the lower edge of the rotating cap 1 via a few material bridges 4. Below the guarantee band 2, the flange 7 is visible, with which this twist lock consisting of the socket 3 and the twist cap 1 can be welded onto a composite package.
- the rotating cap 1 with the attached guarantee band 2 is factory-warmed or screwed over the thread of the pouring spout in the warm state and the guarantee band slides over the thread and, after cooling, it surrounds the pouring spout 3 below the thread and can be closed no longer pull up over the external thread of the pouring spout 3.
- the rotating cap 1 must therefore be turned so vigorously that the material rial bridges 4 tear or break and only then can the rotating cap 1 be unscrewed and removed from the socket 3. If several material bridges have to be torn at the same time, the torque required for this is considerable.
- a radially projecting element 5 with a shearing edge 6 directed from the top in the clockwise direction, seen from above, is present on the pouring spout 3 between at least two material bridges 4.
- the material bridge 4 lying in front of this shearing edge 6, seen in the clockwise direction can be sheared off on this advantageously sharp-shaped shearing edge 6 when the rotating cap 1 is rotated counterclockwise.
- the upper edge of the guarantee band 2 has a depression 8 at the point where the radially projecting element 5 is attached to the pouring spout 3, as a result of which a recess is formed into which the element 5 protrudes.
- protrude further projecting cantilever elements 9, which are formed on the outside of the pouring spout 3 and act as barbs for the slipped-on guarantee band 2. They also ensure that the guarantee band 2 on the pouring spout 3 cannot slide upwards.
- the two other material bridges 4 visible here, one on the left side of the image and the other on the right side of the image, do not lie opposite a shear edge.
- the material bridges 4 and also the guarantee strip 2 are rotated counterclockwise with it.
- the middle material bridge 4 visible here is thereby shifted towards the shear edge 6 on the element 5.
- the other material bridges 4 also shift and may be somewhat tense because the rotary cap 1 is slightly raised by the rotation due to the screw thread.
- FIG. 3 shows the exact same situation, but seen from a different angle, namely from obliquely left with respect to the angle from FIG a rounded top edge 10. This rounding 10 makes it easier to put the guarantee band 2 on when the rotary cap 1 is first factory-fitted onto the pouring spout 3.
- FIG. 4 shows this state seen at a different flashing angle, namely seen from the front at the sheared edge 6.
- the guarantee tape 2 fell down and the rotating cap 1 has moved upwards very little because of the screw thread.
- FIG. 6 shows an overall view of the rotating cap 1 and the socket 3 with the loose guarantee band 2 now encircling it.
- a radially protruding element 5 is formed on the pouring spout 3 at three points approximately evenly distributed around the circumference with a shearing edge 6 directed from the top in a clockwise direction. Viewed from above in clockwise direction, there is then a material bridge 4 in front of each shearing edge 6. No shearing edges belong to the intermediate material bridges 4. The elements formed there are merely cantilever elements 9, which act as barbs for the guarantee band 2 which is slipped on or bounced on from above. Because the three shearing edges 6 are only approximately evenly distributed around the circumference of the connecting piece 3, when the rotary cap 1 is rotated counterclockwise, the three material bridges 4 are sheared sequentially.
- the material bridges 4 are sheared off in succession, but not all three at the same time. Once these three material bridges 4 have been torn, the guarantee band 2 hangs only with the remaining three material bridges 4 at the lower edge of the Rotating cap 1. If this is rotated further counterclockwise, one can tear these three remaining material bridges 4 with little force through the rotating cap 1 which moves upwards as a result of the screw thread. It is clear that depending on the design of the closure and in particular depending on the diameter of the socket 3 and the rotary cap 1, a larger or smaller number of radially projecting elements 5 with shear edges 6 are arranged.
- a single material bridge 4 of this type strikes a shearing edge 6 when it is turned; for larger diameters, it can be a plurality of material bridges which hit elements 5 with shearing edges 6 arranged in short succession.
- these shearing edges are always distributed around the circumference in such a way that they only shear off a single material bridge in a short sequence when the rotating cap is turned, so that never more than a single material bridge is sheared off at a time, thus limiting the torque to the force required for this becomes.
- the upper edge of the guarantee band 2 may have a depression 8 at those points where the radially projecting element 5 is attached to the pouring spout 3, as a result of which recesses are formed, into which the elements 5 protrude.
- the upper edge of the guarantee band 2 can be designed in such a way that, viewed from the top in a clockwise direction, an increasing surface is formed behind each material bridge 4, which when the rotary cap 1 is turned in the counterclockwise direction forms a sliding surface that runs onto the element 5 and therefore the guarantee tape 2 presses down at this point.
