Definitions
- the present invention relates generally to the field of cooking appliances for particular products.
- the invention relates to the field of reversible grills for food and in particular a reversible cooking grill comprising a hot cooking plate provided with: a means for heating the plate, first and second surfaces for cooking arranged on opposite sides of the plate heating means, and capable of being selectively turned over, each cooking surface constituting in turn an upper working surface, the grill further comprising means for supporting the cooking plate intended to support said plate, the grill also comprising a receptacle for recovering cooking juices and a removable thermal reflector mounted under the heating means of the plate and capable of making a screen between the latter and any support surface on which is disposed the grill and that, whatever the cooking surface constituting the upper work surface.
- Such reversible grills have two cooking surfaces which are generally different from each other in order to allow the cooking mode to be adapted according to the food cooked.
- the first cooking surface is generally smooth in order, for example, to brown food and the second cooking surface is generally striated in order, for example, to grill meats. It was noted that it is necessary to drain the cooking juices.
- This document describes a reversible grill comprising a cooking plate with two cooking surfaces, the cooking plate being suspended by two feet fixed on two opposite edges of the cooking plate, perpendicular to the latter.
- One of the legs has a different height from the other which allows the hob to be tilted relative to the support surface of the grill.
- the degree of inclination is identical for the two cooking surfaces, which makes it possible to evacuate the cooking juices from the food, by drains situated through the cooking plate, towards a receptacle integrated into the reflector whose surface corresponds to that cooking surfaces.
- the inclination and the flow of the juice being done on the side of one of the feet and the receptacle being covered by the plate, it is particularly difficult to access it in particular to collect the cooking juice during cooking.
- An objective of the present invention is to develop a reversible grill making it possible to improve the cooking of food on each of the cooking surfaces.
- the present invention aims to provide a reversible cooking grill allowing optimized flow of cooking juices, and easy recovery thereof so that they can be used to water food without interrupting their cooking.
- the reversible grill of the invention is essentially characterized in that the first and second cooking surfaces each have an inclination at an angle different from the support surface depending on the position of selected turnaround; which inclination is directed towards the receptacle for collecting the juice, accessible between and / or under the support means of the hob, and is thus suitable at least for a cooking surface to allow optimum flow and easy recovery of the drippings.
- the inclination is therefore selected according to the speed of evacuation of the cooking juices which has been chosen.
- the most inclined cooking surface will be the non-smooth surface, which makes it possible to dry this surface and improve cooking on a ridged grill.
- the most inclined surface will preferably have an inclination relative to the support surface of the grill greater than 3 °, the other surface possibly being almost parallel, if not parallel (the inclination is then considered to be zero ) on the support surface.
- This embodiment is advantageous because it facilitates the operation of collecting juice and cleaning the plate.
- the plate can be inclined by using plate support means formed from first and second groups of support elements fixed to the cooking plate, the first group of elements being arranged on the side of the first cooking surface and defining a first support surface of the cooking plate substantially parallel to the first cooking surface and the second group of elements being arranged on the side of the second cooking surface and defining a second support plane of the cooking plate inclined relative to the second cooking surface.
- the support elements are arranged on the sides of the hob, other than at least that of the cooking surface which has no rim, so that the juice flows freely between these support elements directly in a juice container.
- Such support means directly fixed to the cooking plate make it possible to perform the function of orientation or differential inclination of the cooking surfaces without necessarily using additional parts to perform this function, which is particularly economical.
- the advantage of such a solution is to allow using only the supports with trapezoidal faces to realize both the elevation function and the differential tilting function of the hob, according to the selective inversion position. of the grill chosen by the user.
- the inclination of the cooking surface takes place along an inclination axis approximately perpendicular to those defined by each lateral support.
- the inversion of the grill is facilitated because the supports can be gripped manually then, by relative pivoting around the tilt axis, the grill can be inverted without requiring difficult handling.
- this reversal is easily carried out above the thermal reflector, thereby reducing the risk of burns and the risk of spilling cooking juices on the support surface.
- this advantageous embodiment makes it possible to reduce the number of parts of such a grill and, correspondingly, its manufacturing cost.
- the similarity of shape of the supports facilitates production and storage.
- the grill according to the invention comprises a removable foot block adapted to receive and support the support means of the cooking plate above the support surface, which foot block comprises the thermal reflector and the receptacle for receiving the juices cooking.
- the cooking plate can be oriented by means of this removable foot block, the support plane of which receiving the support means of the plate cooking is inclined at a first angle of inclination relative to the support surface;
- the support means of the plate being formed by first and second groups of support elements fixed on the plate, the first group of support elements being arranged on the side of the first cooking surface and defining a first support surface of the cooking plate and the second group of support elements being arranged on the side of the second cooking surface and defining a second support plane of the cooking plate, the first and second planes of supports are parallel to each other and inclined relative to the cooking surfaces at a second angle of inclination.
- the hob preferably having cooking surfaces parallel to each other, and therefore being inclined relative to its first and second support planes, which themselves although parallel to each other are inclined when they are placed on the foot unit has an inclination of its cooking surfaces corresponding on one side to the sum of the angles of inclination and on the other to their difference.
- the angle of inclination of the plate relative to the support of the grill therefore depends on the cooking surface which is chosen as the upper working surface.
- the angle of inclination of the hob with respect to its support means is identical to the angle of inclination of the support plane of the base unit with respect to the support surface.
- the working surface of the grill in one of the upturning positions of the plate on its removable base, is parallel to the support surface of the grill and in the other of its positions, the working surface of the grill is inclined with respect to the support surface of the grill at an angle twice that of the two reference inclination angles.
- FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the grill according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a side view of the grill of Figure 1, with its upper horizontal working surface
- FIG. 3 shows a side view of the grill of Figure 1, with its inclined upper working surface
- - Figures 4 and 5 show side views of another type of grill according to the invention
- FIG. 7 and 8 respectively represent the grill of Figure 6 in a horizontal position and in an inclined position.
- the invention relates to a reversible cooking grill comprising two cooking surfaces having a different inclination depending on whether one or the other cooking surface is used as a working surface, that is to say as an upper surface.
- the reversible grill 1 of FIG. 1 comprises a cooking hot plate 2 provided with a heating means, and first and second cooking surfaces 3 and 4 respectively which are arranged on opposite faces of the heating means of the plate.
- the grill is capable of being selectively turned over, the cooking surface being oriented upwards constituting an upper work surface, intended for cooking.
- Support means 6 and 7 integral with the plate 2 keep it suspended relative to the support surface 8 which is generally a table.
- These support means are supports 6 and 7 which have lateral faces 12 and 13 of trapezoidal shapes substantially identical to each other.
- the first support 6 is fixed to a first end 14 of the rectangular cooking plate and the second support 7 is fixed to a second opposite end 15 of this same plate.
- the supports 6 and 7 are generally made of electrically and thermally insulating material, such as plastic. These supports are preferably formed to constitute grips 18, 19 of the plate and are fixed to the cooking plate by means conventional fixing such as by screwing, clipping, overmolding.
- the cooking plate can be assembled relative to the supports by any means capable of allowing an adjustment of the inclination of the plate relative to the supports 6 and 7.
- the supports 6 and 7 are assembled symmetrically so that the trapezoidal faces 12 and 13 are substantially parallel to each other and oriented substantially perpendicular to the hob 2.
- Portions of the support edges of the supports 6 and 7 form a first group of support elements 10 and are oriented towards the side of the first cooking surface 3, thus defining a first support plane of the cooking plate 2
- This first support plane is substantially parallel to the first cooking plate 3 which is a smooth plate.
- Portions of the support edges form a second group of support elements 11 of the feet 6 and 7 and are oriented towards the side of the second cooking surface 4, thus defining a second support plane of the cooking plate 2.
- This second support plane is substantially inclined by at least 3 °, relative to the second thigh plate 4 which is a striated plate.
- a removable foot block 22 is disposed between the support surface 8 and the supports 6 and 7.
- the supports 6 and 7 and the removable block 22 have complementary shapes which overlap one another when the grill supports are placed on the block.
- the removable foot block is adapted to receive and position the grill in its two turning positions.
- rounded male shapes are placed on the supports 6, 7 and are complementary to female shapes arranged on the removable block 22.
- the block 22 is composed of two parts forming the feet 32 and 33.
- the female forms complementary to the male forms of the supports 6 and 7 are carried by the feet 32 and 33.
- These parts 32 and 33 are connected together by a thermal reflector 9 and the whole of the foot unit 22 being removable with respect to the cooking plate 2 and its support means 6 and 7.
- the thermal reflector 9 is located between the heating means of the plate 2 and the support surface 8 on which the foot block 22 rests.
- This arrangement allows the grill 1 to be turned over to change the work surface without having to move the reflector 9.
- the reflector which is generally rectangular, has an area greater than that of the hob. This latter feature makes it possible to collect in the reflector 9 any overflow of cooking juices which may flow from the cooking surfaces of the plate 2.
- a juice container 23 can be integrated or fixed on the reflector 9 along the side of the surface of the cooking plate without rim, located between the feet 32 and 33 and parallel to the axis of inclination of the plate: this juice container overflows from it, so as to directly collect the cooking juices that can flow from the surface of the plate.
- the tray 23 has connection elements adapted to allow its attachment to the reflector 9. This tray 23 is removable to facilitate cleaning and watering the food with cooking juices without having to remove the heat reflector 9.
- the thermal reflector 9 can be fixedly mounted on the removable foot block 22, when for example, the support block and the reflector are two separable parts. In this case the reflector 9 can be removable from the support block 22 to facilitate cleaning operations.
- the support block 22 can alternatively be formed from a single metal piece having both the function of a foot and a thermal reflector.
- the heating means of the cooking plate is an integral heating means of the plate, comprising an electrical resistance.
- the electrical resistance is connected to electrical connection means 24 such as a socket, so that the hob can be disconnected simply to allow it to be washed.
- the plate is preferably waterproof in order to allow its immersion while avoiding accumulations of water which could be damaging for electrical safety.
- Electrical safety devices can be installed to ensure that the hob 2 can only heat up when it is correctly positioned and supported with respect to its foot block 22.
- the foot block 22 has on its lower face support pads made of flexible material, intended to be inserted between the block 22 and the support surface 8, so as to allow thermal, electrical and mechanical insulation between the grill 1 and the support surface 8.
- FIG. 2 represents the grill 1 positioned on its foot block 22, the upper work surface being the first cooking surface 3.
- the support elements of the first group of support elements 10 are positioned in the corresponding housings of block 22 and the first cooking surface 3 is arranged parallel to the support surface 8.
- FIG. 3 represents the grill 1 positioned on its foot block 22, the upper work surface being the second cooking surface 4.
- FIG. 4 shows another particular embodiment of the reversible cooking grill 1 in which the support means 6 and 7 of the plate 2 are constituted by side edges 16 and 17 of the plate 2. These side edges 16 and 17 are situated at least along the two opposite sides framing a side without rim of the plate for receiving the juice, which side without rim being parallel to the axis of inclination of the plate.
- edges 16 and 17 have a height greater than the thickness of the plate 2 and are raised relative to the plate, so as to provide spaces 20 and 21, between the cooking surfaces 3 and 4 of the plate 2 and the first and second support surfaces of the cooking plate 2.
- the removable foot block 22 is formed by four feet 25-29. Each of these feet bearing on the support surface 8 and supporting the ends of the flanges 16 and 17 of trapezoidal shape. These support legs 25-29 also pass through and support a thermal reflector 9, which has a rectangular shape and a thermal reflection surface greater than the cooking surfaces of the grill.
- the reflector base unit has manipulation handles 30 and 31 arranged on at least two of its sides.
- the plate 2 also has two manipulation handles 18 and 19 fixed on these lateral flanges 16 and 17. In this case, these manipulation handles are only used to manipulate the plate, and not to support it.
- FIG. 6 represents another embodiment of a grill according to the invention provided with a removable one-piece base 22 with an inclined support plane 36.
- the support means 6, 7 of the plate consist of a continuous peripheral rim 41 forming two support planes 34 and 35 arranged on the opposite faces 3 and 4 of the plate 2. This peripheral edge 41 borders:
- the two lateral sides on either side of this non-bordered side can then be of trapezoidal shape like the edges 16 and 17 of the embodiment of Figures 4 and 5 to ensure the different inclination of the cooking surfaces while the continuous peripheral support surface 36 of the removable foot unit 22 is horizontal and parallel to the support surface 8;
- the removable foot unit 22 of FIGS. 6 to 8 has a single continuous peripheral support surface 36 which defines the support plane 36.
- This peripheral surface 36 is inclined relative to the support surface 8 and is adapted to support in turn the support planes 34 and 35 of the plate.
- the cooking plate 2 is inclined relative to the support surfaces 34 and 35 which are parallel to each other.
- the angle of inclination of the support plane 36 relative to the support surface 8 is preferably identical to the angle of inclination of the plate 2 relative to the peripheral flange 34 and 35 forming the support means 6 and 7 of the plaque.
- the plate is thus supported on its removable foot block 22, by a single continuous peripheral surface 36, in continuous contact with one of the continuous support planes 34 or 35 of the plate, depending on the face of cooking chosen.
- This embodiment provides better centering and positioning as well as better stability of the plate on its foot block 22.
- the function of thermal reflection and collection of cooking juices can be ensured by several elements including two removable 37, 38 which constitute the juice recovery tanks. These tanks 37 and 38 are arranged on opposite sides of the removable block 22 and rest in notches where they are held by horizontal slides formed in the block 22.
- removable trays 37 and 38 are provided to be placed under the hob so as to allow the recovery of cooking juices. These trays 37 and 38 are used in turn, depending on the side of the grill which is chosen to drain the cooking juices.
- the cooking plate is perforated by a slot 42 to allow the flow of juice to the trays 37 and 38, and on the side of the cooking surface that can be positioned horizontally, the plate has no edge along the edge corresponds to this slot, the same for the other cooking surface but on the side opposite this slot.
- the thermal reflection function is also performed by a central reflection surface 39 incorporated in the removable block 22 stiffening the latter and adapted to be placed under the cooking plate.
- openings 40 can be made on the sides of the support block 22.
- Figure 7 shows the grill with the hob in a position parallel to the support surface 8, that is to say with the first cooking surface 3 placed upwards, the two identical angles of inclination being opposite and s 'canceling.
- FIG. 8 represents the grill with the hob in an inclined position relative to the support surface 8, that is to say with the second cooking surface 4 placed upwards, the two angles of inclination being in the same meaning and adding up.
- the cooking plate 2 generally has cooking surfaces parallel to each other, it should be noted that the differential inclination of the cooking surfaces 3 and 4 can be achieved by forming a plate 2 whose cooking surfaces 3 and 4 are not parallel to each other. This particular solution can be combined with each of the embodiments described above.
