- the secondary part is arranged on the housing.
- electromagnetic forces act between the primary part and the secondary part, which accelerate the slide relative to the housing.
- This electromagnetic force has a component parallel to the guide rail that accelerates the carriage.

- This shear force component acts as a normal force and has to be absorbed by the linear roller bearings. If the amount of the effective shear force component is very large, the linear roller bearings must be dimensioned accordingly.
