Abstract

On fait circuler un premier gaz caloporteur au contact du cœur (5) du réacteur nucléaire (1) à haute température, en circuit fermé, on échauffe un second gaz d'échange thermique par échange de chaleur avec le premier gaz d'échange ou gaz caloporteur et on utilise le second gaz d'échange thermique échauffé par le premier gaz caloporteur dans un échangeur intermédiaire (7), pour entraîner au moins une turbine à gaz (2) couplée une génératrice électrique (4). Le premier gaz d'échange est constitué principalement par de l'hélium et le second gaz d'échange renferme en volume substantiellement de 50 % à 70 % d'hélium et de 50 % à 30 % d'azote. On met en circulation le second gaz d'échange thermique en circuit fermé, de manière que le second gaz d'échange thermique assure au moins l'entraînement de l'au moins une turbine à gaz (2). De préférence, le dispositif comporte également un circuit tertiaire (10) dans lequel circule de l'eau et de la vapeur formée par échauffement d'eau à partir d'une fraction du second fluide d'échange et utilisée pour entraîner des turbines à vapeur (3a, 3b, 3c) montées, de préférence, sur l'arbre de la génératrice électrique (4).
