Abstract

Cette invention concerne un écran plasma couleur à courant alternatif ainsi qu'un procédé de commande associé utilisés dans l'élaboration de moyens individuels d'affichage sur des écrans plasma couleur à courant alternatif et dans la création de modules d'écrans composés, présentant une intensité élevée, une bonne efficacité lumineuse ainsi qu'une meilleure qualité d'image et de contraste et garantissant une fiabilité de fonctionnement et de commande. Cette invention se caractérise en ce qu'une électrode de balayage d'un élément d'affichage se compose de deux conducteurs séparés l'un de l'autre par une distance optimale, ce qui permet d'entrer des informations à l'aide d'un intervalle de décharge supplémentaire occupant une petite partie de l'élément d'affichage, ce qui garantit le contraste. Dans un mode de réalisation, les électrodes de commande se présentent sous la forme de bus munis de conducteurs, ce qui permet l'accroissement du volume d'ionisation du gaz ainsi que la réduction du retard statique de la décharge obtenue. Les intervalles de décharge supplémentaires introduits dans les éléments d'affichage surdimensionnés permettent d'éliminer le papillotement survenant dans les éléments d'affichage lumineux.
