Abstract

L'invention concerne un système d'affichage pouvant être utilisé dans l'élaboration de moyens d'affichage sur écrans plasma couleur à courant alternatif et décharge de surface. La présente invention permet d'améliorer les contrastes et d'augmenter la fiabilité de commande de ces écrans, dans des conditions de brillance et d'efficacité lumineuse élevées, et de réduire le nombre d'électrodes de balayage. Le système selon l'invention se caractérise en ce que chaque pixel présente une forme d'émission lumineuse en losange et qu'il est constitué de trois éléments d'affichage de couleur présentant une forme d'émission lumineuse en parallélogramme. Ces parallélogrammes sont disposés les uns par rapport aux autres selon une symétrie par réflexion, dans les lignes adjacentes, le long de l'axe vertical de l'écran. Les lignes de l'écran sont regroupées en paires. Les éléments d'affichage comprennent une électrode de balayage commune qui forme, avec les électrodes d'affichage à proximité, des intervalles de décharge préparatoires. Une décharge préparatoire et une décharge d'adressage se forment successivement lors de l'entrée de données. Après chaque adressage, un mode de stabilisation de décharge se met en place.
