Abstract

Die Erfindung beschreibt ein Befestigungselement (1), insbesondere zum Blindnieten, mit einem Setzkopf (4), einem Deformationsabschnitt (2) und einem Schaftende (3), wobei zwischen dem Setzkopf (4) und dem Schaftende (3) der Deformationsabschnitt (2) angeordnet ist und das Befestigungselement (1) innen hohl ist, ggf. mit einem Dorn (7) innerhalb des Befestigungselement (1), der ein Dornkopf (23) und einen mit dem Schaftende (3) zumindest zugfest verbundenen Dornfuss (24) aufweist, wobei das Schaftende (3) eine Stanzkante (6) aufweist, die im wesentlichen entlang des äussersten Umfanges des Schaftendes (3) verläuft, sowie ein Verfahren zum Setzen dieses Befestigungselements (1), eine Nietverbindung mit diesem Befestigungselement (1), eine Vorrichtung zum Setzen dieses Befestigungselements (1), eine Verwendung der erzielten Nietverbindung sowie eine für das Verfahren zum Setzen des Befestigungselements (1) geeignete Matrize. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass auf einfache Weise besonders haltbare und zugfeste selbststanzende Blindnietverbindungen hergestellt werden können, wobei das Befestigungselement (1) die Möglichkeit bietet, ein Zusatzteil (22) zu befestigen.
