- the frame is adjusted on the support 18 by its members intended to receive the hub of the rear wheel. It is fixed to the pins 54, the position of the selector 52 being chosen so that the bearing surfaces 54c make it possible to position the frame 1 on its support. If it is expected that the front wheel of the bicycle is the same diameter as the rear wheel, the shaft 46 is engaged in the hole 44a. In this way, the bicycle is in a position corresponding to that which it would have on a flat and horizontal road.
- the measuring device 20 is then adjusted to the bicycle. To this end, the thumbwheel 68 is loosened, so that the shoe 62 can slide on the table 10.
- the arm 64 is then adjusted so that the hole 72e is located opposite the bottom bracket le.

- the inclination of the TV riser can be checked either by using the level or by trigonometry.
- the measuring device is brought into the theoretical position, and the saddle is moved forwards or backwards, depending on the correction made.
- the frame does not correspond perfectly to the theoretical inclination
- the displacement of the saddle 5 in a direction parallel to the axis A-A makes it possible to correct this defect.
- the correction must not, however, exceed certain limits, depending on the weight of the user, because of the torque experienced by the saddle, the weight of the user no longer being applied directly to the seat tube. If necessary, the HS seat height can be further adjusted.
- the adjustment of the position of the handlebars, and in particular of the height of the stem HG, is carried out by placing the cross-member 22 so that it corresponds to the theoretical height HC of the frame.
- the measuring device 20 is kept in its position making an angle TV with the horizontal and the cursor 88 is moved on the bar 74 to the dimension corresponding to HC.
- the crosspiece 22 is then moved upwards on the masts 32, so that it comes to bear against the probe 94. It is thus at the desired height.
- the cross-member 22 is then adjusted in a direction parallel to the axis AA, so that the origin of the rule 120 is opposite the conical end of the probe 94.
- the measurement tool 130 is then adjusted so that the bar 138 makes an angle with the horizontal equal to that TD of the steering tube. It is placed on the bar 110 at the level equal to the length of the LC frame.
