Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Isolierung von Poly- oder Monomethylolalkansäuren der allgemeinen Formel (I), wobei R gleich oder verschieden ist und einen sustituierten oder unsubstituierten Kohlenwasserstoff oder eine Methylolgruppe bedeutet, die aus den entsprechenden Polymethylolalkanalen oder Monomethylolalkanalen der allgemeinen Formel (II), wobei R die oben angegebene Bedeutung hat, durch Oxdation mit einer wässrigen Lösung von Wasserstoffperoxid hergestellt worden sind und wobei (a) eine Kristallisation, gefolgt von einer Fest/Flüssig-Trennung (B) durchgeführt wird und daraus die Säure als erstes Kristallisat (2a) und ausserdem Mutterlauge (3) erhalten werden, (b) in der Mutterlauge (3) weiteres Kristallisat (2b) erzeugt wird, und die resultierende Mutterlauge (3) in einer weiteren Fest/Flüssig-Trennung (C) von dem weiteren Kristallisat (2b) abgetrennt wird, und die so erhaltene, an der Säure abgereicherte Mutterlauge (3) entsorgt wird.
