Definitions

  • the invention relates to a vertical elevator with a cabin, which is connected to a counterweight via at least one traction mechanism, which runs over a deflection device, and which has a drive which can be moved up and down on a stationary, vertical runway
  • the drive is connected to the cabin. It is known to arrange the drive above the cabin as well as below the cabin.
  • the counterweight is used only to compensate for the weight of the cabin with the drive.
  • the loading condition of the cabin can assume two extreme values: in the first extreme case the cabin runs empty, i.e. without a payload, in the second extreme case it runs with the maximum permissible payload. Since these extreme values have to take into account the conditions for both upward and downward travel, the vertical elevator is designed, for example, in such a way that the counterweight is as heavy as the empty car with drive weight + 50% payload, and that the weight of the fully loaded cabin with drive is 50% larger than the counterweight. In such a case, the drive motor only has to be half as strong as a 100% ion Weight balance, which is when the empty cabin is as heavy as the counterweight. This consideration does not take into account friction losses and mass smear forces.
