Definitions
- the invention relates to a mobile device for loading and unloading aircraft, with a chassis and a conveyor arranged on the chassis.
- a first variant of known loading and unloading devices are conveyor belt wagons which are intended for conveying light, hand-movable piece goods such as suitcases and the like.
- the conveyor belt wagon To load the aircraft, the conveyor belt wagon is positioned at a corresponding loading hatch of the aircraft, the general cargo is placed on the conveyor belt leading from the floor to the loading hatch by ground personnel and transported to the loading hatch of the aircraft. There it is accepted by other operating personnel and stowed in the cargo hold of the aircraft. The aircraft is unloaded in the reverse order.
- the conveyor belt has a tilt that can be adjusted to a limited extent in order to be able to compensate for height differences from the loading hatch of the respective aircraft type.
- Conveyor belt vehicles are either designed to be self-propelled or are pulled by a towing vehicle.
- lifting transporters For loading and unloading heavy loads such as pallets and in particular containers, self-propelled lifting transporters are known which are loaded with containers or pallets at a storage location remote from the aircraft and transport these to the aircraft in order to accomplish the transfer there.
- Lifting transporters have a platform that is equipped with roller or roller conveyors and that can be raised and lowered without the possibility of an inclination adjustment.
- a driver's platform is provided in the area of the platform, which can be raised and lowered together with the platform so that the Operator can also visually monitor the docking process to the loading hatch of the aircraft and the transfer of the cargo in the raised position of the platform.
- lifting transporters are mainly designed for bulky loads of up to around 10 tons.
- Pallet loaders are also known for loading and unloading pallets, which have two separate platforms, a main platform and a bridge platform.
- the platforms are aligned horizontally and can be raised and lowered independently of each other.
- the load is taken over by a transporter as a supply vehicle onto the main platform and raised to the transfer height.
- the load is taken over by the bridge deck of a so-called lower deck loader, which is positioned at the hatch height during the entire loading process and is driven into the aircraft.
- the width of the bridge platform can be adapted to the width of the loading hatch of the aircraft, i.e. part of the bridge platform can be swung down if necessary.
- Pallet loaders are self-propelled like lifting transporters, but they are arranged in a fixed position during the entire loading or unloading process, i.e. they require separate feed vehicles for the loads.
- conveyor belt vehicles enable the aircraft to be loaded and unloaded continuously, they can only be used to convey hand-held general cargo; they are not suitable for heavy loads.
- Lifting transporters and pallet loaders can load and unload heavy loads, but only discontinuously. With these facilities, the loads must be raised from floor level in a horizontal orientation to the transfer level and directly (lifting transporter) or via a bridge platform (Pallet loader) can be transported horizontally to the loading hatch of the aircraft. This makes the loading and unloading process cumbersome and very time-consuming.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a loading and unloading device for aircraft, with which both a continuous loading and unloading of hand-held piece goods and a loading and unloading of heavy loads as well as the transport of the loads to and from Airplane is possible.
- the invention is based primarily on the idea that both transport in a horizontal and inclined direction over a main conveyor line and the transfer of the goods to the hold of the aircraft via an auxiliary conveyor line which is pivotably articulated on the main conveyor line, loading and Allows unloading the aircraft with a wide variety of loads.
- the conveying device has a main conveyor which is adjustable in height and in its inclining direction in the conveying direction with respect to the chassis and at least one at a longitudinal end of the main conveyor about a horizontal transverse axis with respect to this pivotable transfer conveyor.
- the transfer conveyor can be arranged either horizontally for transferring the goods to be transported into the aircraft or aligned with the main conveyor, for example in order to reach higher heights or to reduce the inclination of the conveyor device relative to the chassis at a given delivery height.
- a transfer conveyor which can be pivoted about a horizontal transverse axis is arranged on each of the two longitudinal ends of the main conveyor.
- the main and transfer conveyors are preferably designed as conveyor belts, as roller conveyors or as roller conveyors.
- the height of the loading hatch can change with respect to the roadway level due to the increasing or decreasing load in the aircraft. This makes it necessary to adjust the conveyor on the aircraft accordingly. With a predetermined standing position of the loading and unloading device, this can be done by changing the inclination and the length of the conveyor.
- the length of the main conveyor can be adjusted telescopically, preferably by means of an electronically controllable adjustment mechanism, preferably having at least one hydraulic cylinder, the length of the main conveyor and / or its height and / or inclination relative to the chassis
- a position measuring device arranged in the aircraft-side end region of the conveyor device is adjustable.
- the main and / or transfer conveyors have an alignment mechanism for the loads to be conveyed, which can have, for example, a slide or jogger rail running essentially laterally in the longitudinal direction of the conveyors.
- the alignment mechanism can also have drivable guide belt conveyors or guide rollers.
- the loading and unloading device expediently has lifting mechanisms which can be actuated independently of one another and are each articulated in an end region of the main conveyor and which are preferably designed as half-shears which can be actuated with linear drives.
- the linear drives are preferably designed as hydraulic cylinders. This means that not only can any inclination of the conveying device be set within the scope of the adjustment path, but its height can then also be adjusted in a horizontal orientation.
- the loading and unloading device is expediently designed to be self-propelled and for this purpose has a drive motor and a driver's station arranged in an end region with control elements for the driving and conveying functions. Furthermore, it is advantageous if the drive motor and the driver's station are arranged laterally offset with respect to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and the conveyor. The main conveyor can then be aligned horizontally in a space-saving manner near the floor of the chassis, for example when driving empty.
- the aircraft-side transfer conveyor has at least two conveyor parts which are arranged in the longitudinal direction and parallel to one another and can be pivoted independently of one another. This makes it possible, depending on the pivoting position of the conveying parts, to operate loading hatches of an aircraft of different widths.
- an operator platform which can be raised and lowered together with the conveyor device and has control members for the conveyor functions should be arranged at least in one end region of the conveyor device. As a result, the operating personnel can be important Visually monitor conveyor functions, for example docking to the loading hatch of the aircraft or transferring loads.
- the device has a remote control unit for the transport functions which can be used independently of the control elements of the driver's cab and the operator platform and which can be designed, for example, as a radio or cable remote control.
- FIG. 1 is a plan view of an aircraft with various ground supply units, including two loading and unloading devices docked on the loading hatches of the aircraft;

- the space available for the loading and unloading devices 16, 16 ' is narrowly limited, especially taking into account a safety zone in the area of the engine or the wing of the aircraft.
- the loading and unloading devices 16, 16 ' must therefore be comparatively compact.
- the conveyor device designated as a whole by 26, essentially consists of a main conveyor 28 and transfer conveyors 30, 32 articulated on this at both longitudinal ends, each of which can be pivoted to a limited extent about transverse axes 34, 34 'with respect to the main conveyor 28.
- the main conveyor 28 and the one transfer conveyor 30 each have a conveyor belt 36, 38 as the conveyor mechanism, while the second transfer conveyor 32 to be arranged on the aircraft has driven conveyor rollers 40.
- the main conveyor 28 is in the longitudinal direction laterally of guide rails 42, 42 'for those to be conveyed
- the transfer conveyor 32 is also designed to be divided in the longitudinal direction, the two halves being pivotable independently of one another about the axis 34 '.
