Definitions
- the invention relates to a wall part for containers, in particular packaging and storage containers.
- Containers in particular packaging or the like, are frequently provided with predetermined breaking points at at least one point on the container or packaging wall. By manually exerting force on these predetermined breaking points, the consumer is able to open the container or the packaging. Especially in the field of plastic and cardboard packaging, a perforation of the packaging material is usually provided as the predetermined breaking point.
- the aim of the present invention is therefore to provide a container wall part with perforation which does not have the disadvantages mentioned above and by which the ingress of liquids or dirt particles can be reliably prevented.
- this aim is achieved by a wall part for containers or the like, which has at least one perforation and a sealing means for preventing the penetration of liquids, particles or the like through the wall part in the region of the at least one perforation, the sealing means having the at least one Perforation covering is arranged on a first side of the wall part.
- the wall part can on the one hand be part of the container.
- the wall part according to the invention is suitable for attachment to gas outlet openings, such as occur in the automotive industry with belt tensioner or airbag modules. In this case too, the penetration of liquids or dirt particles is undesirable, since the function of belt tensioners and airbags would otherwise be impaired or even fail completely, with the consequences being fatal.
- the wall part according to the invention can also be used as a cover for an ejection opening for an airbag.
- the wall part is designed as a label. It is particularly advantageous here to make the label self-adhesive. For this purpose, it can further be provided that on the side facing away from the first side of the wall part, at least in sections
- Adhesive layer is attached. Such a label can then easily be applied to any type of packaging. In addition, it is possible to protect all types of openings from the ingress of dirt, moisture and the like. Existing packaging can be easily retrofitted with "moisture protection”.
- a lacquer layer is provided as the sealing agent.
- a layer of lacquer has the advantage that it can be attached to the wall part in a simple manner. For this purpose, it is provided according to an advantageous variant of the invention that the lacquer layer is printed. So can in the mass production of wall parts
- Sealants are applied in a particularly simple manner.
- the sealing means is applied to the wall part in the form of a label.
- the sealing agent is preferably applied by gluing.
- the sealing means is an easily breakable film.
- the film can be designed in such a way that it yields and breaks at a certain pressure. This means that the entire wall part becomes permeable in the area of the perforation. This ensures that packaging or the like can be opened by exerting an appropriate force on the sealing means and the perforation underneath.
- the pressure at which the wall part becomes permeable is particularly critical since the perforations above the openings have to tear open at a defined pressure at the gas outlet openings , so that gas can escape and any remaining pressure can be released after the belt tensioner or airbag has been triggered.
- FIG. 2 an embodiment of the present invention as a label in perspective view
- Fig. 3 an embodiment of the invention under the influence of a predetermined
- FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the wall part 1 according to the invention in a side view.
- the wall part is designed as a label.
- An adhesive layer 2 is arranged on the underside of the wall part 1. This can be applied over the entire surface or, if desired, in sections. In order to produce the adhesive application in sections, either a full-surface application can be used
- Adhesive sections are covered with non-adhesive areas or overprinted.
- the adhesive 2 can be selectively applied to the underside of the wall part 1.
- the wall part has one or more perforations (not shown).
- a sealing means 4 is attached to cover the perforations.
- This label shape is particularly suitable for at least temporarily covering openings of all kinds to prevent the ingress of dirt, dust or liquids.
- gas outlet openings of airbag or belt tensioner systems can also be covered with a wall part according to the invention, so that in particular no escaping drinks or other accumulating dust and dirt can get into the outlet openings and can sometimes completely switch off the functionality of the systems mentioned.
- the present label form such systems can be easily retrofitted by anyone.
- the wall part 1 according to the invention is shown as a label in a perspective view.
- the wall part 1 has one or more perforations 3.
- the perforation 3 is designed in such a way that it tears in the region of the perforation 3 when the wall part is defined. Especially if this is the case when using the
- Wall part 1 for closing gas outlet openings of airbag and Belt tensioner systems it is important that the wall part is permeable at a defined pressure.
- the sealing means 4 protecting the perforation from the ingress of dirt or moisture must become permeable when the perforation 3 is torn open.
- the sealing means 4 can consist of a lacquer layer which can be printed on the area of the perforation.
- a slightly breakable film which repels liquids and solid particles, but tears when subjected to mechanical stress.
- This film can be applied to the wall part 1 in the form of a label, for example.
- This variant is particularly suitable for retrofitting existing perforated wall parts manually or mechanically with a sealing agent 4 according to the invention.
- FIG. 3 shows a wall part 1 according to the invention in label form under the action of a mechanical load in a perspective view.
- a mechanical load for example, if there is a defined pressure (arrow upwards) on the wall part 1 in the area of the perforation 3, for example due to a gas flowing out through the gas outlet opening, the wall part is loaded until the perforation finally tears (arrows left, right). With the perforation, the sealant 4 is also separated and that
- Wall part made permeable Likewise, the wall part 1 can be made permeable by manual action in the area of the perforation.
- the wall part 1 according to the invention is part of a container 5, packaging or the like.
- the wall of the container 5 has a perforation 3, which is covered with a sealing means 4.
- pressure is exerted on the perforated area with the thumb, for example, whereby the perforation 4 and thus also the sealing layer 4 are separated.
- the packaging it is also possible for the packaging to provide a wall part 1 according to the invention in label form according to FIG. 1 on the wall part 5.
- beverage packaging milk, juice and the like
- pouring openings and air holes can be covered with a wall part 1 according to the invention.
- FIG. 5 Another application of the wall part 1 according to the invention is shown in FIG. 5.
- a wall part 1 according to the invention can be attached between the airbag and the cover flap.
- the wall part is designed to be self-adhesive in the form of a label, it preferably consisting of a tear and liquid-resistant material.
- the shape of the wall part 1 essentially corresponds to that of the outlet opening of the airbag compartment.
- projections are provided on the wall part 1 on the sides, which are provided on one side with an adhesive layer 2.
- the projections can be glued against the side walls of the airbag compartment and are shaped in such a way that they can be fitted to the side walls in a precise manner.
- the wall part 1 has a perforation 3 which extends almost over the entire length of the wall part 1.
- the wall part is again equipped with a sealing means (not shown) in the form described above. The material is selected so that it only tears along the perforation 3 when the airbag is properly deployed and the airbag can exit through the opening thus created.
