  • the hydraulic actuators 22 When it is desired to empty the bulk material load B from the container, the hydraulic actuators 22 are extended, so that the arms 18 lie alongside the limbs 16b of the sub-frames 16 and the container C tips in the opposite direction, as shown in Figure 2: now the actuators 30 are retracted, to open the door D of the container, and so allow the bulk material load B to flow out under gravity. It will be appreciated that the bulk material may be discharged in a relatively controlled manner, with the generation of minimal dust clouds.
  • the arrangement of the V-shaped sub-frames 16 provides a lower centre-of-gravity for the assembly and, advantageously, the axis about which the container is tipped is close to the centre of gravity: in particular, there is a minimum of undesirable swinging of the load in use of the apparatus, and therefore improved safety. It will also be noted that there is minimal risk of any loss of cargo at undesirable locations, nor any pollution from loss of cargo. Furthermore, because the apparatus is controlled remotely, there is no need for people to come near the apparatus whilst in use, again providing for maximum safety.

Abstract

Un appareil, destiné à être utilisé dans le déchargement de matière en vrac d'un conteneur (C) de fret, comprend une structure (F) destinée à être fixée au conteneur, un bras de suspension (18) pivotant sur la structure (F), permettant de suspendre le conteneur par l'intermédiaire du bras (18), et un moyen actionneur (22) destiné à faire tourner la structure (F) par rapport au bras (18) afin de basculer le conteneur (C) dans un angle voulu par rapport à l'horizontale.
