On améliore l'adhésion entre une surface galvanisée et un matériau polymère en formant sur la surface galvanisée un revêtement d'un promoteur d'adhésion. Ledit promoteur d'adhésion est un composé qui comporte au moins deux groupes trialcoxysilyle qui sont pontés l'un à l'autre par un composé qui comprend au moins un atome d'azote réactif. Dans certaines réalisations, on traite la surface galvanisée avec un détergent alcalin avant d'appliquer le promoteur d'adhésion. La composition du revêtement forme une couche favorisant l'adhésion qui se présente soit sous une forme hydrolysée soit sous une forme non hydrolysée et elle peut être utilisée sur l'acier, l'aluminium ou le laiton.
