Abstract

Es wird ein Verfahren zum Nachweis eines Defekts (48) einer Führungsschiene (1) beschrieben, bei dem eine in die Führungsschiene (1) eingekoppelte Ultraschallwelle (40) mit einer Frequenz von weniger als 100 kHz nach wenigstens zwei Reflexionen an einander gegenüberliegenden Innenseiten (41, 43) der Schienenoberfläche (39) detektiert wird. Das Verfahren ist sowohl in einem Reflexions- als auch in einem Transmissionsmodus durchführbar. Beispielsweise ist damit eine Eisenbahnschiene während des Zugbetriebs auf der Eisenbahnstrecke auf Defekte und Schienendurchbrüche überwachbar. Es werden auch bevorzugte Vorrichtungen zur Durchführung des Verfahrens angegeben. Jeweils mehrere Vorrichtungen sind zu einem Überwachungssystem kombinierbar, mit Hilfe dessen sich auch über weite Distanzen von mehreren 100 km Eisenbahnstrecken überwachen lassen.
