Abstract

Bei einem Verfahren zum Nachweis eines Defekts einer Führungsschiene (1), insbesondere einer Eisenbahnschiene, wird eine horizontal transversal polarisierte Ultraschallwelle (40) in die Führungsschiene (1) eingekoppelt und nach Ausbreitung über eine Länge von mehr als 100 m in einer zur Führungsschiene (1) parallelen Ausbreitungsrichtung (42) detektiert. Es ist auch eine entsprechende Vorrichtung zum Nachweis eines Defekts einer Führungsschiene (1) beschrieben. Die Vorrichtung weist einen an eine Unterseite (1C-1) eines Schienenkopfs (1C) der Führungsschiene (1) akustisch angekoppelten Ultraschallwandler (3; 60, 62; 60A, 60B, 62A, 62B; 64; 66) auf. Das Verfahren und die Vorrichtung nach der Erfindung eignen sich besonders für ein stationär an einer Eisenbahnstrecke angebrachtes Schienenüberwachungssystem.
