Ein in Umfangsrichtung eines Kunststoffverschlusses eingebrachter Schnitt dient beispielsweise der Ausbildung eines Garantierings, der beim Öffnen eines Behälters, auf den der KunststoffVerschluß aufgesetzt ist, zumindest abschnittsweise vom Kunst- Stoffverschluß getrennt wird und/oder derart irreversibel verformt wird, daß ein erstmaliges Öffnen des Behälters angezeigt ist . Vorrichtungen der hier angesprochenen Art sind bekannt . Sie weisen mehrere ortsfest angeordnete Messer auf, an denen ein entlang einer Bewegungsbahn verlagerbarer Kunststoff- Verschluß vorbeigeführt wird. Im allgemeinen werden hierzu drei -in Verlagerungsrichtung des Verschlusses gesehen- hintereinander angeordnete Messer eingesetzt, an die der Verschluß angedrückt wird und dabei durch seine Verlagerungsbewegung entlang der Bewegungsbahn an diesen abrollt. Hierbei werden von jedem Messer jeweils ein über 120° der Umfangs- fläche des Verschlusses verlaufender Teilschnitt in die Umfangsflache eingebracht, die aneinander angrenzen, wodurch ein durchgehender Schnitt gebildet wird. Mit der bekannten Schneidvorrichtung wird zwar ein durchgehender Schnitt in den Umfang des Verschlusses eingebracht, jedoch weist der Schnitt aufgrund der Messeranordnung und Schneidengeometrie eine -in Umfangsrichtung gesehen- unterschiedliche Tiefe auf. Der Schnittverlauf ist derart, daß im Anfangsbereich eines Messers die Schnittiefe sehr gering ist, zur Mitte des Messers hin größer und ab der Mitte bis zum Endbereich des Messers wieder kleiner wird. Durch diesen Schnittiefenverlauf kann nicht in allen Fällen gewährleistet werden, daß die beim Öffnen des Behälters auf den Garantiering wirkenden Kräfte ausreichen, um diesen in gewünschter Weise zu beschädigen beziehungsweise zu deformieren, so daß ein erstmaliges Öffnen nicht mit Sicherheit erkannt werden kann. Zur Einbringung des in Umfangsrichtung des Verschlusses verlaufenden Schnitts wird der Verschluß zunächst mit dem von einer Haltevorrichtung fixierten Messer zusammengeführt und nach dem Kontaktieren des Messers definiert um seine Mittelachse gedreht.
