Definitions
- connection element for a conductor foil having conductor tracks with a plurality of contacting elements arranged on a contact strip and assigned to the respective conductor tracks.
- connection elements are used in the art, for example, as plug or solder contacts for contacting the conductor foil with contacts of electrical components and are therefore known.
- the conductor tracks are generally printed on one side on the conductor foil and can therefore be produced particularly cost-effectively, in particular in comparison to ribbon cables.
- conductor foils printed with conductor tracks have a particularly low weight.
- the conductor foils are used, for example, in a combination instrument of a motor vehicle to connect various electronic, often bus-compatible modules.
- a plurality of modules such as input modules, display instruments or stepper motors can be supplied with electronic signals and electrical current from a single central electronics unit via a common conductor foil.
- connection elements known from practice can only be attached to the ends of the conductor foils. If one wants to connect three or more modules to one another, a further conductor foil provided at one end with the connecting element leads away from a central conductor foil.
- the conductor tracks of the two conductor foils are generally connected to one another by means of clamps penetrating the conductor foils.
- clamps penetrating the conductor foils.
- the invention is based on the problem of designing a connecting element of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be arranged at any desired locations on the conductor film and can be produced particularly cost-effectively.
- This problem is solved according to the invention in that the contact strip has a predominantly smooth surface in the longitudinal direction of the conductor foil and that a clamping strip is provided for gripping over the conductor foil and for prestressing the conductor tracks against the contacting elements.
- connection elements according to the invention can be arranged at any point on the conductor foil. In this way, a large number of electronic modules can be connected to a corresponding number of connection elements arranged on a single conductor foil. Therefore, when connecting several modules, no clamps are required to contact two conductor tracks.
- the connecting element according to the invention consists of particularly few components and is therefore particularly inexpensive to manufacture. Furthermore, damage to the conductor foil when contacting the conductor tracks is reliably avoided, since the contacting elements are prestressed against the conductor tracks. In addition, you can remove the connection element from the conductor foil and attach it to another location.
- the required pretensioning of the contacting elements against the conductor tracks can be generated simply in that the contacting elements each have a spring contact.
- the conductor tracks are reliably contacted if the terminal strip has pressing elements opposite the contacting elements of the contact strip.
- connection element according to the invention is particularly easy to handle if the terminal strip and the contact strip are connected to one another via a film hinge.
- the terminal block cannot be lost here.
- connection element can be produced, for example, from plastic in an injection molding process in a single injection mold.
- the mounting of the connecting element on the conductor foil is particularly simple if the terminal strip or the contact strip has a locking projection provided for engaging in a locking recess of the respective other component. As a result, the terminal strip and the contact strip are simply pressed together until the locking projection engages in the locking recess.
- a dirt or oxide layer located on the conductor tracks is reliably penetrated by the contacting elements if the contacting elements have a rough surface.
- the contacting elements are reliably positioned with respect to the conductor tracks if the terminal strip or the contact strip has a positioning element which engages positively in a recess in the conductor foil.
- connection element according to the invention can be connected to one of the modules or to a plug in a manner such that it cannot rotate, if it has a positioning pin on its outside.

Description
Beschreibung
