Description

Entlüftungsvorrichtung für das Kurbelgehäuse einer Brennkraftmaschine Ventilation device for the crankcase of an internal combustion engine
The invention relates to a ventilation device for the crankcase of an internal combustion engine, in particular for a single-cylinder diesel engine, with a ventilation valve.
It is a completely environmentally friendly solution, since the oil that is released when venting is burned immediately in the combustion chamber. The disadvantage is that in motors with a large inclined position, e.g. in the case of ship engines or engines that have fallen over, there is a risk that the oil will get into the combustion chamber and the engine will "run away" and self-destruct due to excessive speed.
The present invention is therefore based on the object of providing a ventilation device which effectively prevents the oil located in the ventilation device from penetrating into the combustion chamber, even in the case of an inclined position or an overturned internal combustion engine.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a device with the features of claim 1. The invention is characterized in that a channel for the gas-oil mixture is provided in the flow direction behind the vent valve, which ends in an oil separator, a connection to the environment being provided behind the oil separator for the gas.
By discharging the flammable gas mixture to the atmosphere, the crankcase is effectively vented and the ignitable mixture is prevented from being fed into the combustion chamber.
Furthermore, an advantageous embodiment of the present invention provides that the liquid area of the oil separator is connected to a separator for removing the oil. This separator is a small chamber in which the oil is collected.
It is also advantageous that a connection of the separator to the suction side of the oil pump is provided for returning the oil into the crankcase. As a result, there is almost no oil loss when the crankcase is vented, since the oil is separated in the oil separator and returned to the crankcase oil circuit. As already described, the gaseous components escape into the atmosphere.
A further advantageous embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that a channel is provided for connecting the separator to the suction side of the oil pump, the cross section of which is smaller than that of the channel for the gas Air mixture. The connection to the suction side of the oil pump ensures a constant suction, which ensures that the oil is safely returned to the crankcase regardless of the engine position. The small pipe cross-section advantageously ensures that, above all, oil is drawn in from the separator. The residual air that is sucked in is harmless to the system.
A further advantageous embodiment of the present invention provides that the oil separator has a gas-permeable suction pad for receiving the oil. This ensures surprisingly simple separation of gas and oil. The suction pad absorbs the oil immediately, which prevents the oil from splashing off. In addition, the suction pad fulfills the function of a dust filter, i.e. Impurities are partly recorded, partly deposited on the surface. In addition, simple and inexpensive maintenance is ensured by replacing the suction pad.
It is also advantageous that the connection of the separator to the suction side of the oil pump has a closable opening for refilling the oil during operation. This can be advantageous, for example, for refilling oil during the operation of a ship's diesel engine, since it is not necessary to switch off the engine on long journeys. Furthermore, an advantageous embodiment of the present invention provides that the oil separator is formed by a vertical tube with an oblique opening. This provides a large cross-section for the gas mixture in the oil separator, which ensures that the oil separator functions properly.
It is also advantageous that the vertical tube is surrounded by a concentric jacket, which is provided at its upper end with an opening to the environment. This construction allows simple and inexpensive manufacture.
A particularly advantageous embodiment provides that the vertical tube forms a tip at the end of the oblique opening, which can be inserted into the suction pad made of felt. On the one hand, this ensures that the oil running along the inside of the pipe is safely sucked up by utilizing the capillary forces, and on the other hand the use of felt ensures that the vertical pipe can be easily inserted into the suction pad. In addition, the use of felt as a suction pad is a simple and inexpensive solution.
Finally, an even more advantageous embodiment provides that the connecting lines are arranged outside the motor housing. This ensures a cool cable routing, which means a Coking of the line cross-sections is prevented, ie the line remains free.
Dabei zeigenThe present invention will now be described using an exemplary embodiment in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Show
Fig. 1 eine schematische Darstellung einer Entlüftungsvorrichtung der erfindungsgemäßen Art,1 is a schematic representation of a ventilation device of the type according to the invention,
Fig. 2 ein Schnittbild eines Ölabscheiders der erfindungsgemäßen Art .Fig. 2 is a sectional view of an oil separator of the type according to the invention.
In Fig. 1, the crankcase 1 is connected to a vent valve 2, which may be a diaphragm valve, for example, wherein the vent valve 2 is connected to an oil separator 3, which has an opening 4 to the atmosphere at one end and at its other outlet is connected to a filter 5. The filter 5 is in turn connected to the suction side of the oil pump 6, which in turn sucks the oil from an oil sump 7 and delivers it back into the crankcase 1 on its delivery side. Between the filter 5 and the pump 6, a filler neck 8 is additionally shown, in which oil can also be supplied to the system.
If there is excess pressure in the crankcase, the gas-oil mixture can escape via the vent valve 2 into the line duct 9 provided for this purpose. In the oil separator 3, the gas is then separated from the oil and discharged to the atmosphere through the opening 4, whereas the oil from the one designed as a suction pad Filter 5 is sucked up. The oil filtered in this way flows from there into a small chamber, the so-called separator 11. The oil collected here is sucked in via the oil line 10 from the suction side of the oil pump 6. The oil line 10 has a cross section of approximately 0.5 mm, which is considerably smaller than the cross section of the line 9. This is because if there is no oil at the separator, ie the line 10 draws air, the amount of air sucked in must be kept so low that the lubricating oil system is not adversely affected (e.g. tearing lubrication). From the suction side of the oil pump, which normally draws oil from the oil sump 7, the oil gets into the crankcase 1. Via the filler neck 8, there is the possibility of refilling oil during operation.
Fig. 2 shows a section through the oil separator according to the invention. This is arranged outside of the motor housing 12. The line channel for the gas-oil mixture 9, the oblique opening 13, the direction of flow of the gas indicated by arrow A and the suction pad 5, the separator 11 and the oil line 10 can be seen. The sheath 14, the sealing closure 15 and the atmosphere opening 4 are also shown.
The oil separator is fastened to the air filter housing 16 by means of a holding device. A gas-oil mixture passes through the line 9 from the crankcase into the device. The heavier oil particles slide due to the sharp deflection of the air in the direction of arrow A. down on the high wall 17 and are sucked up by the suction pad 5, which is connected to the line 9 by the tip 18. The air rises in the jacket 14 and can only escape into the environment through the opening 4. The oil collected and filtered in the suction pad 5 made of felt drips off into a chamber 11, the so-called separator, and is sucked in by the oil pump through the oil pipe 10, which has a significantly narrower diameter. By removing the sealing closure 15 and pulling out the line 9, the replacement of the suction pad for maintenance purposes is made possible.
