Abstract

Described is a plastic screw cap (1) for a bottle or similar vessel, the cap having a cylindrical part (3) with an internal thread (4) designed to be screwed on to an external thread (5) on the neck (6) of the bottle. The cylindrical part of the cap is joined by thin rated break points (10) to a warranty ring (11) adjacent to the rim of this part. Located on the ring are inwards-facing tongue-shaped projections (12) designed to clip in behind a bulge (13) running round the outside of the bottle neck (6). Located on the inside of the warranty ring (11), next to the clip-in projections, are tongues (14) which face each other round the circumference and are inclined in at an angle towards the inside. When the cap is screwed on, these tongues (14) lie directly against the outside surface of the bottle neck, thus preventing a thin tool, e.g. a thin-bladed knife, from being pushed under the clip-in projections (12) and moved round the outside of the bottle neck in order to move the clip-in projections (12) slowly over the bulge running round the bottle neck, at the same time screwing the cap on further, without the rated break points breaking. When the tool begins to move round the outside of the bottle neck, it immediately becomes caught behind the first tongue (14). Since the tongues (14) lie at an angle against the bottle neck, some pointing in one direction and some in the other direction, tampering with the cap in this way is impossible in either direction round the bottle neck.

Description

Schraubkappe aus Kunststoff zum Verschließen einer Flasche oder dergleichen Plastic screw cap for closing a bottle or the like
The invention relates to a screw cap of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 for closing a bottle or the like.
From DE AI 08 453 AI a screw cap of the type in question is known, in which the inward locking projections are hook-shaped, so that when the screw cap is first screwed onto the external thread of a bottle neck, the locking projections are arranged behind one for securing purposes on the bottle neck , snap the outer bead. When unscrewing the screw cap, the hook-shaped locking projections hold the retaining ring behind the outer bead on the bottle neck, so that the thin webs between the retaining ring and the cylindrical part of the screw cap tear off and the retaining ring remains on the bottle neck. This ensures tamper evidence.
A disadvantage of this known screw cap is that, with very careful and slow screwing on of the screw cap and at the same time moving under the hook-shaped projections, it is possible to lift them over the outer bead on the bottle neck, so that the webs between the retaining ring and the cylindrical part the screw cap are not destroyed. This makes it possible lent to replace or contaminate the contents of the bottle in whole or in part and to screw the screw cap back on without this being visible. Although this manipulation requires a certain skill, the securing of the originality of the filling content is limited.
DieFrom DE 35 31 508 AI a screw cap similar to the type in question is known, in which instead of the securing ring a guarantee edge is provided which extends over part of the circumference of the bottle neck and is connected to the edge of the cap by means of molded-on webs. On the inside of the guarantee there is a locking projection. When the screw cap is screwed on, this locking projection slides over an annular bead provided on the edge of the bottle, the guarantee edge pivoting outward like a hinge around the webs. In the end position, the locking projection lies behind the bead. When screwing on, the locking projection remains behind the bead, so that the guarantee edge is pulled away from the screw cap. However, there is the same disadvantage as with the screw cap of the type in question that the latching projection on the edge of the guarantee can be lifted away while at the same time carefully unscrewing and driving over the bead on the edge of the bottle, so that none of the webs connecting the guarantee edge to the screw cap is torn becomes. The
The screw cap can therefore be reused as when screwing it on for the first time, so that there is no guarantee.
The invention has for its object to provide a screw cap of the type in question, in which tampering with the circlip is excluded with greater security.
The object on which the invention is based is achieved by the teaching specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. The basic idea of this teaching is to prevent a thin knife or the like from being pushed between the bottle neck and locking projections and then being moved several times around the circumference of the bottle neck, while at the same time the screw cap is carefully unscrewed, so that the locking projections are slowly opened the bead can be lifted up at the edge of the bottle and finally slide over it. Although it is still possible to push the thin knife or tool in each case under a locking projection, the time required to reach all the locking projections several times would be so great that the result would be very good protection against this type of manipulation is.
Dies bedeutet, daß die Hälfte der Zungen in die eine Richtung und die andereIn practice, according to the invention, the movement of the manipulation tool around the circumference of the bottle neck is prevented by the fact that tongues are arranged on the inside of the retaining ring adjacent to the latching projections, said tongues being directed towards one another and obliquely inwards in the circumferential direction. This means that half of the tongues go in one direction and the other
Half bent in the other direction. A manipulation tool thus gets caught behind one of the tongues when an attempt is made to move around the bottle neck, so that further movement is not possible. In addition, the tongues prevent the locking projections from bending down.
The tongues are expediently designed so long in the circumferential direction that at least in the screwed-on state they engage behind the locking projections on the side facing the bottle neck. The tongues therefore always rest securely on the bottle neck and therefore do not offer a gap through which a manipulation tool could be guided in the circumferential direction of the bottle neck in order to repeatedly raise the locking projections one after the other. Another useful training is that the edges of the tongues lying at the front in the screwing-on direction are arranged in such a way that when the screws are screwed on, the latching projections first move inwards and then the tongues. In this way it is ensured that the advantageous contact of the tongues is brought about securely directly on the bottle neck when screwing on.
The tongues are advantageously resilient on the bottle neck. As a result, they preload the locking ring radially outwards. According to a development of the invention, the securing ring has at least one predetermined breaking point in the circumferential direction. This tears when the screw cap is opened, when the locking projections on the bead on the bottle neck are retained. As a result of the pretension caused by the tongues, the securing ring is stretched after the predetermined breaking point has been torn open, so that there are gaps between the predetermined breaking points that are easily visible, so that a guarantee is guaranteed.
The basic idea of the invention, to provide special tongues which are intended to prevent manipulation, can in principle also be used if the cap is not held by a screw thread, but by a snap connection or the like.

Fig. 1 shows a screw cap 1 made of plastic according to an embodiment of the invention. It has a base 2 and a cylindrical screw part 3 with an internal thread A for screwing onto an external thread 5 of a bottle neck 6, which is only partially shown. A seal 8 is located between the base 2 and an end edge 7 of the bottle neck 6.
A lower edge 9 of the cylindrical part 3 is connected via predetermined breaking points 10 to a securing ring 11 which has locking projections 12 on the inside which, in the screwed-on state shown, engage behind an outer bead 13 on the bottle neck 6. On the inside of the securing ring 11 there are also tongues 1A which resiliently abut an outer wall 15 of the bottle neck 6.
It can be seen in this illustration that the tongues 1A are located in the spaces between the locking projections 12 and are arranged in pairs adjacent to the locking projections 12 and are directed towards one another. In addition, it can be seen that the securing ring 11 has predetermined breaking points 16 in the form of notches arranged axially in the circumference of the securing ring 11. FIG. 3 shows an enlarged detail from FIG. 1 in the area of the lower left part of the screw cap, in such a way that the screw cap is not screwed on and the bottle neck 6 is thus omitted. This makes it clear that, when the screw cap 1 is not screwed on, the tongues 1A protrude so far inward that they protrude inward beyond the radial area occupied by the outer wall 15 of the bottle neck 6 when screwed on.
Fig. A zeigt eine Ansicht IV in Fig. 3 in deren unte- rem Bereich. A shows a view IV in FIG. 3 in its lower region. It can be seen that the two in this Representation of visible tongues 1A extend outside of the inner wall of the locking ring 11 towards each other in the area of the locking projection 12.
Fig. 5 zeigt einen Schnitt V-V durch Fig. 3. Fig. 5 shows a section V-V through Fig. 3. In this illustration, it is particularly clear that the tongues 1A protrude inward beyond the locking projections 12 in the relaxed state and that the predetermined breaking point 16 formed by a notch lies between the tongues 1A.
Zum Schluß kommen dann die Rastvorsprünge 12 von dem Außenwulst 13 frei, so daß sie hinter diesen schnappen.FIG. 6 essentially corresponds to the representation according to FIG. 5, but shows the conditions when the screw cap is screwed on. It can be seen that the tongues 1A are bent inwards and are thus under tension, while at the same time engaging behind the locking projections 12. If the screw cap shown in the drawing is screwed onto a bottle, the locking projections 12 first abut the outer bead 13 of the bottle neck 6, so that they are bent outwards. In the following, this also occurs when the tongues 1A are further screwed on, the ends of which move towards one another. In the further course of the screwing on, the tongues 1A come free from the outer bead 13, so that they rest against the outer wall 15 of the bottle neck 6 due to their length and alignment with spring force. Finally, the locking projections 12 come free from the outer bead 13 so that they snap behind them.
If unscrewing is now attempted to manipulate the locking projections 12 by pushing a thin knife or the like along the bottle neck under the locking ring 11 and trying to guide it around the bottle neck around the locking projections 12 over the outer surface Bring ¬ ßenwulst 13, the knife or the like gets caught depending on the direction of movement behind one or the other tongues 1A. Such manipulation is hindered or even completely prevented. Moreover With such manipulation, the predetermined breaking points 15 tear, so that the securing ring 11 is separated in the circumferential direction. Due to the spring tension of the tabs 1A, the parts of the securing ring 11 adjacent to the torn predetermined breaking points 16 are pressed outward, so that 16 gaps gap in the area of the torn predetermined breaking points which cannot be closed due to the spring tension of the tabs 1A. This also applies when the screw cap is opened without manipulation, because the locking ring 11 is torn open at the predetermined breaking points 16. Although these cracks cannot be seen in the screwed-on state, but if the screw cap is screwed on again, the tabs 1A are supported resiliently on the outer wall 15 of the bottle neck 6, thereby pressing the locking ring 11 outwards and thereby producing the gaps in Area of predetermined breaking points 16. This column is then visible and serves as a guarantee feature.
