Abstract

A safety band (3) of a sealing unit (1) has two retaining noses (12a, 12b; 13a, 13b) arranged in diagonally facing pairs. The retaining noses (12a, 12b; 13a, 13b) standing out on the clear opening of the safety band (3) are axially displaced. When the bottle (17) is closed, the pair of retaining noses (12a, 12b) is first split and then glides on the retaining rib (15). After that the retaining noses (13a, 13b) that are displaced 90 DEG are split and also glide beneath the retaining rib (15). When the bottle is opened the retaining noses (13a, 13b) are first retained on the retaining rib (15) and the connecting webs (9) to the screw-type cap (2) are broken. Afterwards, the remaining webs (9) are also broken once the axially offset retaining noses (12a, 12b) are obstructed by the retaining rib (15).

Description

Schraubverschluss mit einem Sicherheits- und GarantiebandScrew cap with a security and guarantee band
The invention relates to a screw cap with a security and guarantee tape for rapid.
Safety and guarantee tapes are formed on most screw caps today to indicate the first opening of the bottle and to prevent unauthorized persons from contaminating the contents of the bottle. The security tapes consist of a section in the shape of a cylinder jacket, which is connected to the lower edge of the jacket of the screw closure by connecting webs. The bands can have weakening areas on their circumference, which tear when they are opened for the first time. The band sections remain connected with the screw cap. But they can also be made in one piece and remain after opening for the first time below a retaining rib, which is located axially below the thread on the snap neck. In the conventional security and guarantee tapes are distributed either on the lower edge of the same or on its inner surface over the circumference and protruding in the clear cross section, over the circumferentially arranged retaining cams are formed. These retention cams slide over the retention rib when the bottle is being screwed on and engage under it. When the screw cap is opened, the safety strap is held back by the retaining cams, which have a retaining surface at the top, and the connecting webs between the screw cap and the safety strap break. When screwing on or uncovering the screw cap on the bottle filler, problems can arise due to the resistance that occurs when passing the cams via the retaining rib, and the security band, if it is tilted, can be pressed and jammed between the bottle neck and the jacket of the screw cap become. The safety band or the connecting bars for the closure can tear during the closing process. The security band loses its purpose. In high-performance filling systems, a defect of the type mentioned can lead to the entire system coming to a standstill. But even when the screw cap is opened, the known security tapes often tear only on one side or are partially pulled out over the retaining rib. When reclosing, the safety band is jammed between the bottle neck and the jacket of the screw cap, so that a tight reclosure is not possible unless the safety band is first removed or pushed back by hand.
The object of the present invention was to create a safety band which can be applied to the bottle without problems on the bottler on high-performance filling machines and which, when the bottle is opened by the consumer, is properly separated from the screw cap and remains on the bottle neck below the retaining rib or at Reusable bottles tear and remain connected with the screw cap. This object is achieved by a security and guarantee tape according to the features of claim 1.
The axially staggered retaining cams cause considerably lower spreading forces on the safety belt when it is being unrolled and prevent its premature destruction.
Two retaining cams arranged in pairs and axially offset from one another also slide one after the other over the retaining rib when the screw cap is screwed on, as a result of which the safety band, due to the oval deformation, is hardly stretched and a small axial contact force is necessary to enable the retaining rib to jump over. When the bottle is opened, the two retaining cams at the top are initially held back by the retaining rib, and tensile forces only occur there on the connecting webs, which are preferably formed on the side of the retaining cams, and tear them through. As soon as the first connecting webs are torn, the next retaining cams reach the retaining rib and tear through the neighboring connecting webs. This avoids an inclined position of the safety band and, if formed in one piece, it always remains on the bottle neck below the retaining rib. A security band with a predetermined breaking point and connection to the screw cap remains attached to the latter.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, a closure unit consisting of a screw closure 2 and a security band 3 is shown schematically with reference number 1. The closure unit 1 is made of thermoplastic material and is produced by injection molding. The screw cap 2 comprises a base 4 on which a sealing rib 5 running concentrically to the axis of symmetry A can be attached. Connected to the bottom 4 is a jacket 6, which preferably has thread turns 7 which are divided into sections on its inside. The design of the screw cap 2 is generally known and is not explained in more detail here. The security and guarantee tape 3 is connected to the lower edge 8 of the jacket 6 of the screw cap 2 by means of very thin webs 9 which are a few tenths of a millimeter thick. The length of the connecting webs 9 or the distance between the upper edge 10 of the security band is very small and is of the order of a few tenths of a millimeter.
Der Abstand a ist vorzugsweise kleiner als die Höhe b einer umlaufenden RückhalterippeIn the example shown, two pairs of retaining cams 12a, 12b; 13a, 13b educated. The retaining cams 12a and 12b and the retaining cams 13a and 13b are located diagonally opposite one another, are offset by approximately 90 ° and are offset axially, ie with respect to the axial extent of the security band 3, by an amount a. The retention cams 12a and 12b are consequently closer to the lower edge 14 of the security band 3 than the retention cams 13a and 13b by the amount a. The distance a is preferably less than the height b of a circumferential retaining rib

16 der Flasche 17 sind vom Flaschenhals 16 nach aussen ragende Gewindeabschnitte 18 sichtbar, welche mit den entsprechenden Gewindeabschnitten 7 auf der Innenseite des Mantels 6 des Schraubverschlusses 2 in Eingriff zu gelangen bestimmt sind.16 of the bottle 17 are visible from the bottle neck 16 outwardly projecting threaded sections 18 which are intended to come into engagement with the corresponding threaded sections 7 on the inside of the jacket 6 of the screw cap 2.
When viewed in the circumferential direction, the connecting webs 9 lie between the retaining cams 12a, 12b; 13a, 13b. As an alternative to the webs 9, film-like connections could also hold the screw cap 2 and the security band 3 together.
The functioning of the security band 3 of the first exemplary embodiment is explained below with reference to FIG. 3. When the bottle 17 is closed with the closure unit 1, the latter is placed axially from above onto the bottle neck 16 and, viewed from above, rotated clockwise. Initially, the threaded sections 7 on the screw cap 2 come into engagement with the threaded sections 18 on the bottle neck 16. After approximately one revolution through 360 °, the bevelled lower edges 19 of the retaining cams 12a and 12b come into contact with the inclined upper edge of the retaining rib 15 on the bottle neck 16. When the locking unit 1 is rotated further and thereby axially advanced, the two retaining cams 12a and 12b are pressed radially outward and at the same time the two retaining cams 13a and 13b, which are offset by approximately 90 °, are pulled inward. The security band 3 takes on an oval shape and stretches very little and at most within the elastic limit. As soon as the two vertices S ! on the retaining cams 12a and 12b and the apex S 2 on the retaining rib 15, the two retaining cams 12a and 12b are pulled radially inwards again, because at this moment the two axially offset retaining cams 13a and 13b are now also in contact with the retaining rib 15 arrive and are pushed radially outward analogously to the other two ribs. The cross section of the security band 3 in turn becomes oval. After a short time, the two retaining cams 13a and 13b also slide over the retaining rib 15 and are then, like the two retaining cams 12a and 12b, in the cylindrical region 20 of the bottle neck 16. When the bottle 16 is closed, the thin connecting webs 9 only become very little mechanically stressed because the axial pressure causes the safety band 3 with its upper edge 10 to rest against the lower edge 8 of the jacket and the connecting webs 9 are only compressed.
When the screw cap is opened, the two diagonally opposite retaining cams 13a and 13b initially come into contact with the retaining rib 15 on the bottle neck 16. However, since neither inclined surfaces meet on the retaining cams 13a and 13b nor on the retaining rib 15 and the two parts are pushed apart as in the case of Allow screwing or closing, but rather the retaining rib 15 does not allow the retaining cams 13a and 13b to pass, the latter are retained and the connecting webs 9 lying to the side of the retaining cams 13a and 13b are torn in two. When turning further, for example by a quarter or half turn, the retaining cams 12a and 12b then come into contact with the retaining rib 15. Because of the webs 9 which have already broken, the safety band 3 is again oval-shaped and thereby pulls those which are now engaged Retaining cams 12a, 12b under the retaining rib 15. The remaining connecting webs 9 are torn. The safety band 3 now remains in the area 20 below the retaining rib 15. Without the safety band 3 which has now been torn off, the screw cap 2 can be screwed onto the neck 16 of the bottle 17 in order to close it again.
In the embodiment of the invention according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the security band 3 is permanently connected to the jacket 6 of the screw closure 2 in the area (X). The remaining circumferential area of the security band 3 is fastened to the lower edge 10 by the thin connecting webs 9. A predetermined breaking point 22 in the form of an incision, a line of weakness or a film-like reduction in the wall thickness enables the security band 3 to tear when the screw closure 2 is opened. A first retaining cam 12a is located adjacent to the predetermined breaking point 22 below the connecting area X. A is preferably directly opposite the connecting area X. single or a pair of closely spaced retention cams 12b formed. Two further retention cams 13a, 13b are offset by 90 °. The retention cams 13a or 13a and 13b are located axially further away from the lower edge 14 of the safety band 3 and therefore come into contact with the retention rib 15 earlier than the retention cams 12a, 12b when opened. The webs 9 on the side of the retaining cams 13a and 13b and the predetermined breaking point 22 are therefore torn in front of the others.
