In this case, the last hundred dots would have a pulse width of 132 microseconds.
  • Bits B8-B12 provide information regarding the offdot pulse. As detailed earlier, the offdot pulse is a pulse that is insufficient to cause dot formation. The offdot pulse is used to prevent less active heating elements from cooling below a predetermined temperature.

Abstract

Ruban encreur pour imprimante, comprenant un substrat souple (200) enduit sur une portion d'une de ses deux faces d'une encre transférable (202). L'une desdites faces est munie de marques (B1-B23) lisibles par machine et pouvant comporter un code dont une partie au moins indique une valeur d'un réglage destiné à un contrôleur de l'imprimante faisant appel audit ruban pour permettre d'effectuer l'impression selon ledit réglage, et cela, sans avoir à rechercher les instructions de réglage dans une mémoire. Le code peut également comprendre une première partie indiquant au moins un réglage destiné à être utilisé par un mécanisme d'impression afin d'effectuer une impression au moyen dudit ruban encreur, et une seconde partie fournissant des instructions modifiant le ou les réglages pendant l'impression.
