Definitions
- the present device relates to a mechanically speed-changeable squirrel cage induction motor, wherein it is possible to increase or decrease the number of rotations of the rotor fixed on the shaft of the motor by making the stator inside the motor frame move left and right through simple mechanical operation from out.
- a squirrel cage induction motor is so constructed that it has, a stator fixed onto a motor frame and having wires wound around inside slots of armature core thereof and a rotor formed in a way that a plurality of rotor bars, arranged around a motor shaft and fixed onto end rings on opposite sides at a gap to said stator, are fixed onto the shaft with a plurality of silicon steel plates laminated in the shaft direction.
- Such squirrel cage induction motor of conventional types can control the number of rotations of the rotor by controlling the frequency or the voltage when control of their speed is desired, but, then, not merely do they need to have a separate control device for this speed control but also the efficiency degrades; and when there is no said control device there is no way to alter or readjust the number of rotations of the rotor from out at need once it has been set, and so there is a problem that application of these motors cannot but be seriously limited in the case of an equipment where change or readjustment of their speed is frequently demanded while in use. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
- a squirrel cage induction motor comprising a stator fixed onto a motor frame and having wires wound around inside slots of armature core thereof, a squirrel cage rotor having a plurality of rotor bars arranged around a motor shaft and fixed onto end rings on opposite sides thereof and a plurality of silicon steel plates laminated in the motor shaft direction and positioned inside said bars and end rings at a gap to said stator, wherein said rotor has further a plurality of silicon steel plates spaced at same gap to said stator and laminated in said motor shaft direction adjacent to said rotor to form magnetic path, said stator is mounted so as freely to move right and left via a sliding bush thereof along the guide shaft held in parallel to the motor shaft on opposite sides of the motor shaft, said motor frame has an oblong hole bored, respectively, in both sides thereof and opposite bent ends of a C-shaped lever is fixed on the out circumferences of the stator through said oblong holes and a center of said lever is

- Fig. 3 is the sectional view of Fig. 2 along Line B-B.
- Fig. 1 is perspective view of the present device, wherein a terminal with its lead-in wires is set on a said of the outer circumference of motor frame 1; the rotor 21 and a plurality of silicon steel plates 31 for forming the magnetic path are inserted in a shaft 2, as shown in figs. 2 and 3; and on the outside of said rotor 21 and a plurality steel plates 31 said stator 11 is set and has wires wound around inside slots of an armature core thereof. Said stator 11 is inserted via a sliding bush 13 thereof in the guide shafts 14 held on both sides and is movable right and left in the direction of said motor shaft.
- Said rotor 21 is formed by arranging a plurality of rotor bars 22 of almost the same length as said stator 11 around said motor shaft 2 at same intervals and by means of the end rings 23 on opposite sides keeping a certain gap to said stator 11; and at the same time by connecting said rotor bars 22 to said motor shaft 2 with a plurality of silicon steel plates 24 laminated in the direction of said motor shaft 2.
- Said rotor bars 22 is preferably made of copper or aluminum, and therefore, when a wire 12 is supplied with the current and a revolving magnetic field is formed, a rotating force is generated at right angle to the magnetic flux formed by said wire 12 of said stator 11 and said rotor bars 22 of said rotor 21, whereupon said rotor 21 rotates in the same direction as said revolving magnetic field, thus rotating said motor shaft 2.
- a plurality silicon steel plates 31 of the same size as said rotor 21 is inserted in said motor shaft 2.
- Magnetic path 31a is formed by a plurality of silicon steel plates
- an oblong hole la is bored preferably as long as the distance between the center of said rotor 21 and the center of a layer made of said silicon plates 31; through these oblong holes la opposite bent ends of a C-shaped lever 7, are fixed on both sides of the outer circumference of said stator 11.
- Said lever, set in a direction of said motor shaft 2 assumes an appearance as if enwrapping slantwise the leftward outside of said motor frame 1; the center of said lever 7 is screwed on a screw bar 8a of said handle 8; and an end of said screw bar 8a is pivoted in a bracket 6 fixed on the left side of said motor frame 1 in a way that it can rotate on the spot.
- said lead-in wire a flexible coil or spiral line in order to keep the right and left movement of said stator 11 free of interference from a stiff lead-in line.
- the motor is constructed that it is possible to move said stator 11 right and left by turning said handle 8, and thus changing the number of rotations of said rotor 21 with ease from out, whereby it has not been made possible to provide a squirrel cage induction motor, the speed of which can be easily changed by a simple external, mechanical operation, and which has a wide range of possible application in the industry.
