Abstract

A process for cutting rovings when drawing out bobbins from roving frames is useful in the spinning industry, in particular for producing rovings. The rovings are cut without interrupting thread supply, the pressing finger is moved out of the winding stroke of the last layer, the roving is rotated more rapidly and the consolidated roving is moved into the flyer. The roving is slackened by turning backwards the bobbins and the bobbin rail moved into the drawing out position. When the disclosed process is used, the roving is torn at the exit of the flyer and an automatic spinning can be started without changing known components of the machine.
