Abstract

L'invention concerne une préparation présentant une activité enzymatique comprenant une partie substantielle d'activité d'α-L-arabinofuranosidase capable de délignifier la pâte de bois à un pH de 8 à 9 et une température de 65 °C. Ladite préparation est obtenue par fermentation aérobie d'une souche de Bacillus stearothermophilus sélectionnée à partir de la souche déposée sous le numéro NCIMB 40494, de mutants et de variants de celle-ci. La souche déposée, les mutants et les variants de celle-ci sont également décrits. Un procédé de production de ladite préparation, un prodédé comprenant le traitement de la pâte de bois avec ladite préparation, et la pâte de bois traitée avec ladite préparation sont décrits, ainsi que ladite préparation en association avec une préparation présentant une activité enzymatique produite par une autre souche microbienne et capable de délignifier la pâte de bois à une température d'au moins 65 °C et un pH d'au moins 9. L'utilisation d'une enzyme exprimée par la souche déposée et l'α-L-arabinofuranosidase qui comprend une ou deux séquence(s) partielle(s) spécifique(s) ainsi que des homologues fait également l'objet d'une description.
