Definitions

  • the invention relates to a bolt or mat cutter, as is used, for example, in the building trade to cut thicker reinforcement bars or iron of a reinforcement mat.
  • a cutting tool has a cutting head which is designed with regard to its kinematic movement in the form of a conventional pair of scissors with two cutting jaws which end in two arms via a joint joint. These two arms are connected to two handle bars via a respective articulated connection. These two handle bars are in turn articulated to one another in the area of the cutting head. When the handle bars are actuated, a very large force can be transmitted to the cutting jaws as a result of a favorable lever transmission.
  • bolt cutters only differ from mat cutters in the alignment of their cutting jaws.
  • the cutting jaws are aligned approximately in its longitudinal direction, while in the case of the mat cutter they are offset on the cutting head approximately at right angles to this longitudinal orientation.
  • the lever ratios are concerned, the bolt cutter does not differ from a mat cutter.
  • a bolt cutter is known, the handle bars of which are designed to be mutually curved in direct connection to the joint joint. It is thereby achieved that the cutting head can be lowered deeper into a reinforcement cage when the handle bars are open, than is the case with bolt cutters that do not have this angle. As a result of the bend, the sections of these handle bars present between the joint of the handle bars and this bend can remain within the clearance profile occupied by the cutting head. As a result, this bolt cutter can be inserted between the reinforcing bars as far as the angulation permits.
  • the object of the invention is to specify a bolt or mesh cutter which can be lowered much more deeply between reinforcing bars than the bolt or mesh cutter known in the prior art.
  • the bolt or mat cutter known from the prior art is accordingly characterized in that the left handle bar is articulated to the right cheek piece and the right handle bar to the left cheek piece and that the two cheek pieces in the area when the two cheek pieces are open their articulated connection with the two handle bars are spread apart; the region of its Z-shaped bend preferably begins at a distance from the joint of the two handle bars that is greater than twice the length of each of the jaw parts of its cutting head.
  • the jaw parts extend approximately 15 to 20 cm in the longitudinal direction thereof.

This area 22 causes the handle bars to cross each other in the area of the straight piece 20 when the mat cutter 10 is closed (crossing 21). Because of this bend 66, for example, the bolt cutter 60 can only be immersed by the dimension C between the reinforcing bars 49. This immersion dimension C is only half as large as dimension B. Abstract
