Abstract

Un soutien efficace de la tête et du cou lors d'accidents avec chocs violents ou lors d'accélérations ou décélérations rapides ou brusques est assuré aux utilisateurs de véhicules tels que motocycles, motoneiges, scooters à hydrojet et bateaux à moteur, grâce à un système de protection des cervicales qui comporte un sac (110) rempli d'un gaz, pouvant se déployer rapidement depuis un collier (105) disposé autour de la base d'un casque (101). Une fois déployé, le sac (110) s'étend devant jusqu'à mi-sternum, derrière jusqu'à environ la quatrième ou la cinquième vertèbre dorsale et de côté sur les épaules jusqu'à un point situé approximativement à mi-chemin entre le groupe des muscles sternomastoïdiens et la pointe latérale de l'omoplate, et il maintien la tête de l'utilisateur en légère extension pour atténuer les lésions physiques.
