Abstract

Un procédé de construction des fondations d'un bâtiment consiste à creuser dans le sol où les fondations doivent être placées et à partir du niveau du sol (10), une tranchée (12) dont la profondeur est généralement égale à la profondeur d'une colonne de fondation devant être subséquemment construite dans la tranchée; et avant de placer la colonne, à prévoir des pilots (14) s'étendant du fond de la tranchée à des intervalles espacés tout au long. On construit la colonne en plaçant les armatures (16, 18) dans la tranchée (12) et en les reliant aux pilots (14), et en remplissant ensuite la tranchée (12) de béton (22) pratiquement jusqu'à son sommet. Lorsque le béton durcit, il forme une colonne solidaire des pilots (14). Il est préférable que les parois de la tranchée convergent vers le bas.
