Abstract

In a process for making an ice body (10) from clear ice, with an inclusion (8), adequately cooled cooling bodies are placed in contact with a liquid to be solidified, e.g., water or drinkable liquids containing water. This can be done, for example, by immersing the cooling body in water. An ice body forms around the cooling body. When detached from the cooling body, it has a cavity on the base of which an inclusion (8) is arranged. The cavity if filled, e.g. with water, and cooled, which results in the formation of an ice body (10) with an inclusion (8). The process of the invention requires no additional supporting elements. In addition, these clear ice bodies can be thawed, joined together and refrozen to form complicated shapes in the form of animals or utility articles.
