  • the upper part 22 is hingedly connected to the lower part 20 by means of a swivel joint 23 and can be mutually braced by means of a tensioning device 24.
  • the clamping device 24 has an eccentric disk 26 which can be rotated by means of a turning handle 25, the eccentric inner clamping surface 26a of which cooperates with a clamping bolt 27 of the lower part 20.
  • Each of the two receptacles 21a, 21b has, as can be seen from FIG. 3, a centrally arranged, electrically heatable jaw 28, on both sides of which holding jaws 29 and side walls 30, each of which is attached to the housing 20a or 22a of the lower or upper part 20 or 22 are attached.
  • the holding jaws 29, which consist of a poorly heat-conducting material, such as, for example, stainless steel, are fastened to the side walls 30 by means of screws 31 and spacer bolts 32, the heatable jaw 28 being held firmly between the holding jaws 29.
  • the inner walls of the housings 20a, 22a and the side walls 30 form a common duct 34 which surrounds the heatable jaws 28 and the holding jaws 29 and through which cooling air which can be generated by a fan 9 is passed.
  • the fan 9 is arranged directly under the heating device 2 in the box-shaped frame 1 and can be driven by means of an electric motor 10 (see FIGS. 1 and 2).
  • the side walls 30 have a recess 35 on the inner circumference, the shape and size of which correspond to the beads which are arranged on the tubular parts 8 which are designed as fittings and are to be welded. As a result, the fittings are held in the correct position in the axial direction.
  • a separate heating device 2 is provided which can be placed on the frame and which is preferably designed for the standard diameters 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 and 65 mm.
  • an electrical switch 11 is assigned to the frame 1, which are arranged next to one another in the longitudinal direction of the guides 4.
  • a switch 11 belonging to this heating device is actuated by a pin 36 fixedly arranged on this, whereby a heating program of a program controller 12 which is defined for this dimension is set.

  • a pressure sensor 17 arranged in the air line 16 is operatively connected to the program control via a pressure setting device and ensures that the set, required pressure in the bladder is maintained during the welding process. If the pressure drops, the compressor is automatically switched on.
  • Each pipe clamping device 3 has an upper part 41 which is fastened to a lower part 40 by means of a swivel joint 23, exchangeable, half-shell-shaped clamping jaws 42 being arranged in both parts. The corresponding clamping jaws 42 are then inserted and fastened in the lower part 40 and upper part 41 for each diameter dimension to be welded.
  • the clamping device 24 for clamping the lower and upper parts 40, 41 is configured in the same way as the clamping device in the heating device 2.
  • the electric heating cartridges 33 in the heating devices 2 each have a thermal sensor 37 and are operatively connected to the program control 12.
  • the program control has an associated setting element for each electrical switch 11 for setting a specific heating power.
  • the heating power is determined by integrating the measured temperature on the heating device over time, the integration starting from an adjustable temperature, such as 210 * C.
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 show an embodiment variant of the heating device 2, which can also be placed on a frame 1 and connected to the frame 1 by means of a pin 51 and a clamping device 50 in a positioned position.
  • a plug part 52 which has plug contacts 53, is arranged in the housing 20a of the lower part 20.
  • a second plug part 54 with plug contacts 55 corresponding to the plug contacts 53 is inserted into the plug part 52 after the heating device 2 has been placed on it, with simultaneous centering on the pin 51.
  • Each of the plug parts 52, 54 preferably has fifteen plug contacts 53 and 55, four of which are provided for the two heating cartridges 33 and four for the two thermocouples 37 and connect them to the program controller 12, seven plug contacts are for coding the the different diameter dimensions required, different heating devices 2 are provided, whereby the welding program required for the corresponding diameter dimension is activated in the program control 12.
  • These plug contacts replace the electrical switches 11 and the pin 36 described for FIGS. 1-3, which simplifies the device.
  • a holding part 60 is fastened in each of the lower and upper parts 20 and 22 of the heating device 2, in each of which a heating jaw 62 is centered in a recess 61.
  • the heating jaw 62 has, in the central region 63, through a recess 64 a wall thickness that is thin to accommodate 21 for good heat transfer from the heating cartridge to the welding point.
  • a heating part 65 preferably made of copper, is arranged in the recess 64 and is fixedly connected by soldering to the heating jaw 62 made of a stainless steel.
  • the heating cartridge 33 and the thermal sensor 37 are arranged in the heating part 65. Due to the shape of the recess 64 in cross section, the temperature profile in the central region 63 - the so-called heating zone - can be defined, the regions 66 on both sides - which are the temperature zones - being heated up less by the larger wall thickness D.
  • a recess 68 is arranged in the center for receiving the heating part 65, through which cooling air is likewise passed through for the rapid cooling of the heating part 65 and thus the welded connection.
  • Design variant corresponds to the device described for FIGS. 1 to 3.
  • the welding process is carried out as described below. -
  • the corresponding heating device 2 is placed on the guides 4 and the corresponding clamping jaws 42 are used in the pipe clamping devices 3. Pipes or fittings are inserted into the heating device and possibly, in the case of pipes, into the pipe clamping device and firmly clamped by clamping the upper parts 22 and 41 against the lower parts 20 and 40 by means of the clamping devices 24.
  • the corresponding welding parameters are automatically set by switching the corresponding electrical switch 11 or by means of the plug contacts 53, 55.
  • the bladder 15 is arranged in the area of the welded joint. The following sequence is triggered automatically by pressing the "Start" button:
  • the bladder is pressurized by switching on the compressor.
  • the heating is switched on, the set maximum temperature (200 to 300 * C) being reached quickly without overshoot.
  • the required heating energy per dimension was set before the welding process.
  • the integration of heating energy starts at approx. 210 ⁇ C.
