Abstract

Procédé de préparation d'une poudre de précurseur de varistor à oxyde métallique consistant (a) à dissoudre des précurseurs solubles d'oxydes métalliques additifs, par exemple du nitrate de bismuth à titre de précurseur pour l'oxyde de bismuth, en solution aqueuse, (b) à former une suspension ou une bouillie dans la solution aqueuse d'une poudre de l'oxyde métallique primaire désiré, par exemple l'oxyde de zinc, dont les particules présentent les dimensions désirées, (c) à ajouter un réactif de précipitation afin de convertir le métal additif de la forme précurseur soluble en forme oxyde ou oxyde hydraté et à précipiter l'oxyde ou l'oxyde hydraté en présence des particules d'oxyde métallique primaire, (d) à extraire l'eau ainsi que les sous-produits de sels pour former une poudre. La poudre précurseur ainsi obtenue contient des particules d'oxydes métalliques additifs de dimensions plus petites réparties uniformément parmi les particules de dimensions plus importantes de l'oxyde métallique primaire. Les varistors préparés à partir de cette poudre peuvent être frittés à des températures inférieures aux températures de frittage habituellement utilisées, par exemple 900°C à 1000°C et les varistors ainsi obtenus possèdent des propriétés de voltage maximum par région de grain supérieures à celles des varistors conventionnels, par exemple 3,75 à 4,5, ainsi que des constantes diélectriques inférieures à celles des varistors conventionnels, par exemple inférieures à 1000.
