Definitions
- Multi-chamber container for reactive substances Multi-chamber container for reactive substances
- the patient and the canned blood must be mixed with the corresponding test sera, the identity of the patient and canned blood being able to be assumed with the same reaction.
- the blood and the test serum are applied and mixed on a carrier, this method being time-consuming, many auxiliaries being required and, moreover, conditional on the test serum being available in separate containers. There are also cards on which dried test sera are applied.
- the test serum must be liquefied in order to carry out the tests. In most cases, moreover, the blood with additional liquid must ver ⁇ 'be thinned. In this method, many auxiliaries are also necessary, and there is also a risk of contamination of the test sera.
- a plastic container with various chambers is known from German Offenlegungsschrift 29 21 136, in which the test serum is filled. The transfusion
- flSO or patient blood is introduced into the chambers with a cannula, in which there is already test serum, but there is a risk of contamination of the cannula with one serum, since traces are also introduced when the cannula is introduced into a chamber which contains a second test serum of the first serum. Furthermore, the serum in the chambers is in contact with a relatively large volume of air, which can lead to a change in the serum during long storage times.
- the object of the present invention to create a multi-chamber container for reactive substances with which the above-mentioned disadvantages can be avoided.
- the serum introduced into a chamber of the container should not be able to be contaminated.
- the test procedure should be able to be carried out quickly and without aids.
- the multi-chamber container should furthermore be able to be used very generally for reaction tests in which a liquid, gaseous or pasty substance is only introduced into the reaction chamber at the moment when the reaction is desired. This is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
- the test material should also be able to be introduced by means of a pipette, dropping, etc. and not only by means of a cannula, as in known devices.
- FIG. 1 shows a multi-chamber container with a lower container part and cover film in a perspective view
- FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the container according to FIG. 1
- FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section through the container according to FIG. 1, with the cover film over the intermediate
- FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of a second exemplary embodiment of a lower container part with cover film.
- 5 shows a section through the container according to FIG. 4 with glued-on plastic strips,
- FIG. 6 shows a section through a third exemplary embodiment of a container
- FIG. 7 is a perspective view of the lower part of the container of a fourth embodiment
- FIG. 8 is a plan view of the lower container part according to FIG. 7,
- FIG. 9 shows a longitudinal section through the lower part of the container with an applied cover film according to FIGS. 7 and 8.
- FIG. 10 shows a fifth embodiment with three chambers.
- 11 shows a sixth embodiment with three chambers.
- a deep-drawn container lower part 1 made of plastic, preferably PVDC.
- B. filled the test serum when using the container for blood tests.
- a large chamber 3 serves to mix the blood to be tested with the serum.
- a connecting channel 4 is provided between the small chamber 2 and the large chamber 3.
- a cover film 5 is coated on its side opposite the lower part of the container with thermal lacquer and sealed to the lower part 1 of the container. If, during a reaction test, the liquid to be tested is introduced into the large chamber 3, for example with a cannula, as soon as the reaction is to take place, as indicated by the arrows in FIG. 2, the small chamber 2 can be compressed, the liquid 8 located in the small chamber reaches the large chamber 3. As can be seen in Fig. 3, the cover film 5 is raised in its area 6 over the connecting web 4, a passage channel 7 being created for the test serum. This ensures that the liquid 8 in the small chamber does not become contaminated before the reaction.
- the lower container part 9 again has a small chamber 10 e.g. for the test serum and a large reaction chamber 11.
- the cover film 12 has an area 13 with a strong thermal lacquer coating and an area 14 with a weak, preferably colored, thermal lacquer coating.
- the rectangular part 15 of the weak coating comes to rest over the web 16 between the large and small chamber in the lower part of the container.
- the circular part 17 with a weak coating has a circular punch 18 which is concentric with the coating.
- the opening 18 lies over the middle of the large chamber 11.
- the liquid to be tested can be poured directly into the reaction chamber 11 through the opening 18 or introduced with a dropper pipette.
- the circular ring 17 serves as a marking for the opening.
- the part 15 with a weak coating comes to rest over the web 16 between the small and large chamber and, when the small chamber is pressed together, allows the liquid in the small chamber 10 to be pushed over the web 16 into the large chamber 11.
- This part 15 is only coated with thermal varnish to such an extent that the cover film in the area of the web 16 can be detached when the small chamber 10 is pressed together by hand.
- FIG. 5 shows a longitudinal section through a further embodiment, which likewise comprises a lower container part 21 and a cover film 22.
- the lower container part 21 has a small chamber 23 and a reaction chamber 24.
- a connecting channel 25 is provided between the two chambers.
- a porous material preferably an open-cell polyurethane foam, is filled, which absorbs the liquid. If the reaction is to be carried out, this porous material 26 is pressed together, the liquid flowing from the small chamber 23 into the reaction chamber 24.
- 6 to 8 is a further embodiment of the invention in a perspective view, in
- the container in turn comprises a lower container part 27 with a large chamber 28 and a small chamber 29.
- the two chambers are connected by a channel 30 when the cover film is lifted off over the intermediate area between the chambers.
- the reaction chamber 28 has, opposite the small chamber 29, a wall 31 which is almost perpendicular to the connecting duct 30.
- the small chamber 29 is squeezed to bring the liquid therein into the large chamber 28, it splashes as it passes through the channel 30 onto the wall 31 and runs down the same onto the bottom of the chamber 28. This prevents the liquid collects by capillary effect on the upper edge of the large chamber between the cover film and the lower part of the container.
- the cover film can preferably also be made from hydrophobic material in order to prevent the above-mentioned accumulation of the liquid from the small chamber between the cover film and the lower part of the container at the upper edge of the large chamber.
- 10 shows a further exemplary embodiment in which the reaction chamber 32 is connected to two small chambers 33 and 34 for test sera. Perpendicular to the breakthrough points 35 and 36, two walls 37, 38 are provided in the reaction chamber in order to cause the test serum to accumulate at the bottom of the reaction chamber 32.
- two small chambers 39 and 40 are connected in series with the reaction chamber 41. This makes it possible to first mix the two substances in the chambers 39 and 40 before they are brought together into the reaction chamber 41.
