Abstract

Se divulgan métodos para aumentar Ia digestibilidad y/o la proteína cruda de una planta modificando la biosíntesis de la lignina de Ia planta. Los métodos implican la manipulación del nivel de expre sión de genes en la vía de biosíntesis de la lignina mediante la reducción directa de Ia expresión génica usando miARN o la regulación de factores d e transcripción. También se proveen casetes de expresión para lograr dicha manipulación y plantas y células vegetales transgénicas que comprenden los constructos y casetes; secuencias de nucleótidos reguladoras de la transcripción, y métodos para usar estas secuencias y casetes.
