DESIGN FOR BUCKLES.

Specification forming part of Design No. 8,903, dated January 11,1876; application iiled December 31, 1875.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY JoENsoN, of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented or produced an originalDesign for a Harness-Buckle 5 and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference bein g had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification- Figure lbeing atop View of abuckle formed according to my design, and having a middle cross-bar, on which the tongue is pivoted 5 Fi g. 2, an edge view of the saine 5 Fig. 3, a top view of a buckle formed according to my design, but without a middle cross-bar; Fig. 4, an edge view of the saine.

Like letters designate corresponding parts in all of the igures.

The form or configuration of this buckle is as follows: The widened face a of the front end of the buckle is slightly rounded over, orconvex, from side to side of the buckle, and, near the sides, is more abruptly curved conveXly, as shown.

The sides b l, in edge View, are doubly curved, first slightly concave lengthwise from lthe front end, as at a and thence slightly convex lengthwise to the rear end, as at y y. The sides may be joined to the front end on the face side, at c c, by a short concave curve.

What I claim as my original design is- A buckle having the conveXly-curved front end a and the doubly curved sides b b, substantially as herein shown and described.
