JOSEPH B. SMITH, OF WATERBURY, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE WATERBURY BUTTON COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
IMPROVEMENT IN BELT-BUCKLE PLATES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 176,083, dated April ll, 1876; application filed March 2, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JGSEPH B. SMITH, of \Va'terbury, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Buckles; and 1 do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a -full, clear, and exact description of the same,
at other desirable point in the plate is a rev cess, B, and in this a bell, O, is suspended. This bell will be rung by the movement of the body of the person wearing it, and it affords anattractive ornament for childrens wear. The bell may be loosely suspended or rigid, but a loose suspension is preferable.
The form of the recess is immaterial, it only being essential that it be such as to leave the bell free from contact with the plate, which would interfere with the vibration of the bell.
I claim- A belt-buckle plate provided with the recess adapted to receive the bell, substantially as shown and described.
