DESIGN FOR BUCKLES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,683, dated May 14, 1878; application filed April 30. 1878. [Term of patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DWIGHT L. SMITH, of Waterbury, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Design for Buckle; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accom 'ianying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents in the figure a face view.
This invention relates to a design for that class of buckles commonly known as suspender-buckles and consists in the configuration of the buckle as shown in the accompanying illustration, and hereinafter described.
The buckle-frame is nearly square, with a horizontal slit, a, near the bottom. Above this there are several vertical slots, b, leaving vertical bars 0 between them, parallel with the sides (I of the buckle-frame, these slits constituting the principal ornamentation and characteristic of the design; but the buckle maybe further ornamented by leaving aboss, e, in the vertical slots.
I claim- 1. The design for buckle-frame, consisting of the plate with several vertical slots 1), leaving bars a therein parallel with the sides, (I, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
2. The design for buckle-frame, consisting of the plate with several vertical slots, I), leaving bars 0 therein parallel with the sides 0?, and with a boss, 0, in the said slots, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
