DESIGN FOR BUCKLES.

Specification forming part of Design No. 10,690, dated May 21, 1878; application filed April 30, 1878. [Term of patent 7 years] 10 all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EARL A. SMITH, of Waterbury, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Design for Buckle; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent in the figure a face view.

This invention relates to a design for buckles in that class known as suspender or plate buckles-that is to say, such as are cut from sheet metal having a flat surface; and consists in the configuration as hereinafter described, and shown in the accompanyingillustration.

The form of the frame is nearly square and consisting of the frame, substantially square,

the upper corners rounded, straight upper side, curved bar d, and two straight bars below, leaving slits a b c, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
