DESIGN FOR GOBLETS, 84:0.
Specification forming part of Design No. 6,976, dated November 4, 1873; application filed October 6, 1873. [Term of Patent 3-} years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J AMES Hones, of Bellaire, in the county of Belmont and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Design for Goblets, &c.; and I do hereby declare the following to be afull, clear, and exact descrip tion of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, in which the figure is an elevation.
The invention relates to a peculiar configuration of the outside of a drinking-goblet, whereby is produced a new design, which presents an attractive aspect and produces a pleasing efi'eet upon the beholder.
A is the bowl, uiade perfectly plain on its outer surface, provided with the curved bulge a at the bottom, and resting on the distinct bottom plate 13. C is the stem, also entirely plain, having the head 0 connected by the intermediate pillar with the foot 0 that rests upon the base D. The entirety is thus made to exhibit a chaste and unique appearance, presenting no salient features of construetion to distract the eye, but having its parts composed of graceful curves, all blend ing into a common unit.
Vhat I claim is- The design for goblets, as shown and described.
