DESIGN FOR A RUCHE-HOLDER.
Specification forming part of Design No. 6,880, dated September 9, 1873; application tiled August 4, 1873. [Term of Patent 3i yeara] To all 'whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID KIsGH, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Design for a Ruling- Drum, of which the following is a specification:
The drawing represents a perspective View of my new design for ruining-drum.
This invention relates to a new form or configuration of the stand or support of a drum used for holding ruiing or other fancy fabric, and also to a new design of the ornamentation of such stand or support.
The stand consists ot' two uprights, A A, which carry or support the shaft of the drum B that is held between them, said drum being of suitable shape and size, and arranged to support ruling or other fancy fabric wound thereon. Each upright A of the stand is made of the form shown in the drawingthat is tosay, it has a V-shaped notch cut into its lower end in tire-middle, and has each of its sides composed at the lower part of a vertical straight line, and thence upward in the fernl of an ogce, the ogee connecting the straight horizontal top line. The face ot' each upright is ornamented or decorated by the representation of a female leaning on a steering-Wheel, and is further ornamented by arabesques or ornamental scrolls, as shown. The ends ofthe drum B where exposed to view may also be ornamented by suitable ornamental scrolls.
That I claim as my invention isl. The design for a ruehc-holder herein described, with or without the ornamentation ou the upright A. substantially as set forth.
