Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OEEIGE.vv
JOSEPH PEOKOVER, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.
Specication forming part of Design No. 6,692, dated May 27,1873; application led February 27, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J osErH PEoKovER, of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented a Design for Stoves, of which the following is a specification: l
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying engraving, to which reference is made.
My stove is designed to be used as a parlor cook-stove, and to he so ornamented as to serve either the purpose of a heating or a cook stove or both.
The characteristic features of a stove embodying my design are, the elevated fire-box projectin over the hearth and having a front that recedes toward the hearth, .a large basechamher under said hearth serving partly as a receptacle for ashes and partly as an oven, and of stove-back which descends from the top in a vertical line a short distance, then inclinin g rearward continues vertically to the base in a plane further removed from the front than the plane of the upper portion, thus giv ing a greater depth below from front to rear than above the hearth, Without impairing the symmetry of the design.
In the drawing, A is the elevated overhanging fire-box; B, the receding part of the front. C is the hearth. D is the base-chamber extending out under the hearth. F G are the upper part of the stove-back. G H are the rearward inclined part of the back, and H I are the lower portion of the back. Y
I am aware that ornamentedparlor cookstoves having elongated arms are V'not new.
The distinctive feature of my design is found in the overhanging front occasioned by the situation of the fire-box.
What I claim isl. The design in a parlor cook-stove of the front A B, substantially as described.
2. The design for a cook-stove of. the front A B, hearth (l, base-chamber D, and back F G II I, substantially as described.
JOSEPH PEGKOVER.
