DESIGN FOR COFFlN-HANDLE.

Specification forming part of Design No. 6,324, dated December 24, 1872.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM M. SMITH, of West Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Cofiin-Handle; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in con neetion with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a front view.

This invention relates to a design for the tip of coflin-handles and like articles; and consists in the peculiar configuration of the tip, as shown in the accompanying illustration.

Arepresents the rod which forms the handle, the ends of which are usually provided with an ornamental tip. The tip, as here represented, has a base, B, a body, C, and head D, the peculiar feature of the design being the form of the body C, which is of polygonal form in central transverse section, but of spherical form in longitudinal section or section on the axial line.

Preferably the surface of this body is matted or otherwise ornamented, but the ornamentation constitutes no part of this design. The body and head are preferably made round, turned, and polished, as shown.

I claim as my invention The design for coffin-handle tip, as herein described and shown.
