PATENT OFFICE.
BALTHASAR KREISCHER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR FILLING-IN TILE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,186, dated August 8, 1871.
To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, BALTnAsAR KREIseI-IER, of the eity, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Filling-in Tile; and I do herebydeelare theibllowing to be a full, clear, and exaet description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being' had to the aecompanyiug drawing forming part of this specifica tion, in whieli- Figure 1 represents a transverse section of my filling-in tile. Fig. 2 is a side View ofthe saine.
Similar letters indicate corresponding parts.
rl.`his design relates to a tile with a slightlyarehed top, joined by rounded corners to short vertical sides, leaving an open bottom, in such a manner that when the tile is inserted between two beams its Vertical sides fit closely to the sides of the beams, while the arched top forms the support for the floor between the two beams, and by these means a cheap, light, and durable fillingin is obtained.
In the drawing, A designates a tile formed with an arched top, a, rounded corners b, and short vertical sides e, leaving an open bottom.
The tile is made to t nie-ely between two beams, to the inner surface of which are nailed suitable strips of wood to support the tiles, said supporting-strips being so situated that the upper surfaees of the tiles are level, or nearly so, with the upper surfaces of the bean'is. The ordinary tilling-in boards can therefore be dispensed with, and my tiles serve t0 support the tioor between the beams.
What I elaiin as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a filling-in tile, as herein shown and described.
