UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES H. BROWN, 01 BROOKLINE, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO IBERENICE BROWN, OF BROOKLINE, MASSACHUSETTS.
Specification for Design.
Patented Oct. 10, 1916.
Application filed July 30, 1915. Serial No. 42,832. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES H. BROWN, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Brookline, in the county of Norfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for ing at the bottom of the sole and at the outer edge.
The design as shown comprises a sole in which the shank faces curved longitudinally, the outer surortion presents two surface A having its transverse elements parallel t0 the surfaces of the heel and toe portions, the inner surface B having its transverse elements inclined and sloping downwardly to the edge of the sole, and both surfaces meeting in a sharply defined line. These surfaces merge into the surface of the toe portion of the solo at two lines forming an obtuse angle with each other. The inner edge of the Shank portion springs upwardly from the bottom of the sole in a curve materially sharper than that of the outer edge of the shank portion. The shape and configuration of the shoe upper may be, as illustrated, of any usual form, the novel feature of the design being independent thereof.
I claim:
The ornamental design for a sole for boots, shoes or similar articles, as shown and described.
