DESIGN FOR A SCARF-PIN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,450, dated October 30, 1900.
Application filed August 25, 1900 Serial No. 28 D81 Term of patent 7 years.
To all wimnq it may; col/newt;
Be it known that I, HERMAN UOHEN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York, (Coney Island,) in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Scarf-Pins, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the tCC0ln panying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a front view of a scarf-pin, showing my new design; Fig. 2, a cross-scction thereof on the line 2 2.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of a body portion A, formed to represent a horseshoe, the heels of the shoe being connected by an inwardly-directed triangular piece B, the toe portion of the shoe being wider, as shown at 0, than the sides thereof, which gradually taper to the heel portion at D. The body of the shoe is also provided with a groove E, which extends around the toe portion thereof and along the sides and terminates at a predetermined distance from the heels, said groove being wider at the toe portion of the shoe than at the sides and being also provided at the sides with parts F, which represent shoe-nails and which are four in number on one side and three in number on The shoe is also provided at the too thereof and at the heels with parts G, which represent the toe and heel calks, but which are simply indicated by cross-lines H, and which are substantially in the same plane as the rest of the front ofthe shoe. The body portion of the shoe is also provided at the front thereof with an inwardly-directed flange or rim K, and the sides thereof are formed by a downwardly-directed flange L, which is inwardly curved at the bottom, as shown at M, from which projecis an in wardlydirected flange or rim N, which is provided with an upwardly-directed flange or rim 0. The main portion of the shoe at the back thereof is provided on one side with a transverse pin P and at the opposite side with the hook R.
Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a scarf-pin, herewith shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name, in presence of the subscribing witnesses, this 31st day of July, 1900.
HERMAN COHEN. Witnesses:
