JACOB LOUIS KUEGHLER, OF READING, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO ORR, PAINTER & 00., OF SAME PLACE.
Design No. 4,815, dated April 18, 1871.
DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.
The Schedule referred to In these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JACOB Lours KUEOHLER, of Reading, in the county of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for OOOK'SCOVES, of which the followiug is a specification.
The nature of my invention is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustrations, to which reference is made.
On a raised scroll ornament, a, on each side plate A of the stove, above the oven-door, is the title of the stove, Morning Light; and at the bottom edge of the plate, on a raised panel, B, are the name and place of the manufacturing firm, ORR, PAINTER & 00., Reading, Pa.
The title of the stove is also on the front fire-plate G, immediately above the fire-doors D D.
On the raised panel B of the oven-doors D is an elliptical raised ornament, a, in the center, surrounded by swelled ornaments b b and d d, around which is the wreath E, which spreads out over the surface of the panel and approximates to the square form of the latter.
The stem of the wreath is formed of scrolls f f f f, which meet together and form an ellipsis.
The fire-doors D D and the end doors D" are in their general design like the oven-doors D D.
The doors D'" D at the sides of the stove, beneath the hearth-plate, have a central slightly-elliptical ornament, g, surrounded by a leafed ornament, h, of elliptical formation, which is surrounded by a wreath, E, that spreads out over the face of the door, and is surrounded by a bead, K, at the edges of the panel.
The front plate F, near its lower edge, has an ornament, m, in the sunk panel I.
The stiles G G of the fire-front H have vertical ornaments l I.
What I claim as my invention is The design for cook-stoves, as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day of March, 1871.
JACOB LOUIS KUEGHLER. [L. s.]
