DESIGN FOR A HlTCHING-POST CAP.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making pan of the same.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ROGR S. AUSTIN, of Wallingford, in the county ot' New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a. new Design for Hitching- Post Cap; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying photographic illustration and the letters of reference ninrked thereon, to be nfnll, clear, and exnct description of the same, and which said illustrations constitute part of this -specilication, and represent n. view of the cap.
This invention is designed for :in ornamental cnp for wooden bitching-posts; and
It consists of a. horses head and neck, the neck resting upon a. base which forms the cap or plate to -eover the post, and with a. band around the neck at the base representing the halter.
The base A represents a. cap formed from leaves or cusps, upon which the neck rests, surrounded at that point by a. strap or band, the neck rising and terminating in the ligure of n horses head, :til ns fully shown in the accompanying illustrations.
The design is to be applied to the top of n. wooden post for the purpose of hitching horses, and to this end n ring is attached to the strnp nronnd the neck.
I claim as my invention- The design for cap for bitching-post, ns herein described nnd shown in the accompanying illustration.
