[WITNESSES INVENTOI? PATENT OFFICE.
RICHARD. W. JONES, OF

DESIGN FOR A HAME-TERRET.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 12,513, dated October 4, 1881.
Application filed August 25, 1881. Term of patent"! years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, RICHARD W. JONES, a citizen of the United States, residing at Syracuse, in the county of Onondaga and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Hame-Terrets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which represents a perspective view of my newly-designed hame-terret.
Heretot'ore hameterrets have been made with the ring-brace coming down to the stat? and terminating above the lower staple-groove in the stafi', while the lower end of the staff below the lower staple-groove was made to terminate with a knob of acorn or other shape.
The leading features of my design consist in extending the ring-brace downward with an Ogee or other curve and rounding downward until-it meets the upturned extremity of the stafi' below the lower staplegroove, substantially as shown in the drawing.
A is the ring, which maybe circular, oval, or
semi-oval in form, as desired. B is the staff.
0 is the ring brace. D is the upper staple- 25 groove, and E is the lower staple-groove. The staple-grooves D and E are generally located as shown in the drawings. The ring A, stafi B, and brace O are made or cast all in one piece. The staples which hold the terret in 0 place upon thehame fit in the grooves D and E.
I claim- The design for a hame-terrct herein shown and described, the same consisting of the ring A,stafi' B, provided with staple-grooves D and 35 RIUHARD W. JONES.
