This invention relates to a design for a clock-front.
For convenience in description it lmay be divided into two parts by the line of division l l,

In the part b Zi is represented a iight between a dog and a oook, forming the main feature of the design.
rlhe dogs head and forelegs nearly touch the ground. He is Crouching down, with open jaw, awaiting the attack. The cook is also in a fighting posture, ready to spring at him.
Between the dog and cook is a circular frame oontaining a medallion head of a oat as a speetator to the fray. rIhis frame is detachable, and closes the penduluin-hole.
In the center of the bottom of this part b b isa large arabesquo, forming part of the bottom edge.
The back-ground of the part b l) is embellished by rich ornaments and foliage.
The part a a is, for the most part, occupied by the dial d.
On each side ot' the dial d, touching the line of division l l, are three small ornamental squares.
Ihe portion above the dial (l is formed in the oenter by an ornamental scroll, with an arabesque on both sides, the whole adding greatly to the iinish of the design.
