DESIGN FOR CAKE OF SOAP.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,287, dated April 14, 1903.

Application filed March 13. 1902. Serial No. 98,117. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern;

Be it known that I, EDWIN ROSS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, haveinvenled and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Cake of Soap, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

In said drawings, Figu re 1 is a plan or face View of the cake, and Fig. 2 is an end elevation.

A cake of soap embodying my ornamental design is oval in face or plan view and provided with convex sides a a, While its edge is formed by a surface I), substantially perpendicular to the general plane of the cake, thereby producing the form shown. The cake is provided upon its said convex faces with marginal scrolls, which extend from the peripheral edges inwardly and form an ornamental border. In order to enhance and emphasize the marginal ornamentation, the principal portions of the faces within said ornamental borders are made smooth or devoid of 25 ornamentation, substantially as shown in the drawings.

The characteristic feature of my ornamental design is the provision of the marginal scroll ornamentation upon the face sides of 30 the cake, which scrollwork terminates in irregular boundary portions on the convex side faces of the cake.
