SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,773, dated May 16, 1899.,

Application filed April 21, 1899. Serial No. 713,971. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, GUSTAV A. KRUTT- SCHNITT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Sign- Plate or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in which Figure 1 is a face view of a sign-plate hearing and incorporating my design, and Fig. 2 is an edge view of same.

The leading feature of my design consists of the border ornamentation along the outer portions of the face of the substantially fiat plate, substantially as shown in the drawings.

In the drawings, A designates the plate, which has a substantially flat face, as shown in Fig. 2, and which face, as illustrated in Fig. 1, bears the ornamental border composed of the bars B, whose surfaces, although flat, have the appearance of being convex and in relief, as shown. Along the inner edges of the bars B is the ornate defining or inner border-line 0. At the corners of the plate A are the disk representations D.

What I claim is- The design for a sign-plate or similar article, substantially as shown and described.
